The location offers beautiful hill views and easy access to local amenities. Guests praise the spacious, quiet rooms and clean modern bathrooms. However, some find it overpriced, particularly for the breakfast.

Please update your website with the fact the Stronlossit Inn is currently closed. Webpage mentions warm highland welcome with food served all day when in fact the Inn never opened at all over my long weekend in Roy Bridge November 2024. I appreciate the challenging economics of the hospitality sector, especially in the off peak season but false advertising won't help your cause.

Possibly the worst hotel stay I’ve endured anywhere (I’ll qualify that - we checked out early and went home it was so bad), and such a poor example of Scottish hospitality for visitors to the country. No welcome greeting on arrival, and a curt and perfunctory check-in with a rude Eastern European man. The room (104) was overly hot, smelled of stale sweat, and was pretty basic. The most uncomfortable beds and pillows ever, and the noise from the accommodation above was unacceptable (squeaky floor boards, child running around, and into the early hours of the morning). We subsequently discovered the noise was coming from the owner’s accommodation above our room. We were moved to a different room when we asked, but similar issues with noise from neighbouring rooms (listening to them arguing), noise from the kitchen / accommodation below) and similarly uncomfortable bed and pillows. This time we had the joy of a bathroom covered in long hair (not ours). The bar-restaurant is a joke. It is dated, smells musty, and has a very limited “pub grub” menu. You are pressured to place your order, and the food takes a long time to arrive (you can hear the bell from the kitchen signalling food is ready, but it may be some time before being brought to your table), and not very friendly service. Don’t expect to be asked if you want condiments or further drinks either - you have to go and ask and then chase several times because there is one person running reception, bar, and waiting tables - the whole time it being very clear you are being an inconvenience, all with no apology or acknowledgement of slowness. The breakfasts are equally appalling - small portions, luke warm, stale cereals, and clearly no-one understands what a Scottish Full Breakfast is. Take a book and board games too - their advertised “high-speed Wi-Fi is an absolute joke and extremely flakey, and the mobile/cell signal is very weak. Never to be repeated, and not a budget option either. I wish I’d read the reviews before wasting my time travelling there.

Rude and frankly downright hostile hotel manager, who may also double up on the bar. I haven't experienced such awful customer service before and this started at check-in. I've never written a "bad"review for anywhere, even when I've found the service or product disappointing but this manager's behaviour is shocking. He truly acts as if the customers are a major inconvenience to him and appears to be actively annoyed by their presence. We were only staying 1 night, as a stop off point on a long journey and hadn't read the reviews beforehand or we would have avoided it. We also had a broken shower that was stuck on scalding hot (confirmed by maintenance and the day staff) which we reported. Not an apology or even a token gesture in response. The rooms are tatty and dated. The bed was comfortable enough and the room was clean. None of it was worth the money but the main issue was the hotel manager and his jaw droppingly awful approach to customer "service". Please read other reviews and atleast take it under consideration. I'd hate for anyone to be booking a lengthier stay and to have to deal with this man, if they can choose somewhere else and hopefully have a more pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Stronlossit in June, 2024 and were significantly disappointed by the hotel. The place is significantly more run down than you would expect given the pictures on the website. The room decorations have a Motel-6 vibe to them, our party (3 rooms total) had multiple issues with showers and wifi, and the lovely pictures with the pond and the ducks shown in their publicity turns out to be an area of the property that is only accessible after pushing through 2 broken gates. Strangely, we also found that several of the hallways were dark, to the extent we could not find the keyhole on our door. We eventually discovered the lights in the hall were simply switched off so we could correct the issue, but why was it like that in the first place? All this might be excusable if this was a bargain hotel, but it is actually fairly pricey. The hotel staff did fix the shower and wifi issues on our second night, and the meal we had in the hotel restaurant was quite good. The bar seems to be frequented by a number of locals so if you enjoy meeting people from the region, it is a good place to hang out.

We ate here twice during our stay nearby and the food was lovely both times. A fairly small menu but that's as it should be when it's all cooked well. Great friendly service too. Sadly we were too full to try any desserts! We will definitely be back

Booked in last minute as I was in the area for hillwalking. Typical Scottish highland hotel I guess but everything I needed. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable bed. I was in room 103 and although the hotel was by no means empty, the room was very quiet and I got a good nights sleep. Went to the bar and there seemed to be a bit of rush with only one person (I think) serving so there was a little wait but perfectly acceptable. Food that I had was very good (just soup as I was in late) but nice and hot and filling. Maybe not the most modern hotel but it had character and the service I had from the staff was very good. Very nice stay and will definitely consider this hotel next time I am in the area. Well worth the money I paid.

Went in past after hillwalking, bar man unfriendly, sharp and never a smile. Asked if there was a table at night “ No, not taking anymore bookings, just turn up” Staying at caravan site across road so gave place a 2nd chance. Got a small table outside the toilets! Only person that smiled throughout the whole evening was a young waitress. Two male waiters rude, unfriendly, worst we’ve ever seen. Absolutely no manners for the paying public. Service was diar, not sure how long we would have waited, landed going to bar for drinks and place food order. A positive was the food, Nice setting and views
