We stayed in the ice hotel on the first night, that has it's own review so won't go into it here. This hotel is huge! It's clearly set up for family breaks away. I wouldnt say it's catered much to couples, I mean there is no bar!! A hotel without a bar! Sure it has eating venues, but who wants to sit in a restaurant all evening to enjoy some drinks? We certainly don't, especially when it was really quiet at the time of our visit. I'll also add in terms of eating choice, there isn't much. That being said we did eat in the Safari Restaurant. We were the only clientelly eating there when we were in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food we got was piping hot and very tasty. I saw a few negative comments on the food, but we had a good experience overall in the restaurant. Activity wise, we did the couples massage from the Aroma Spa. Sandy and Roxanne did us. Chose relaxtion and was very good! Slept like a log that night when I went to bed later. A tip.... take some cash with you as a tip is expected. We did leave a reasonable tip after I ran back up to the room to get some cash. We also did some ice skating. Haven't done ice skating for over 20 odd years so felt like I was a beginner again.... bambi on ice for sure! Decent enough loop around the grounds. The hire boots I got didn't really suit me that well. Clearly well used and just couldn't get them tight on my ankles, which for ice hockey boots is pertinent! However, not bad value for what you get overall. Can't comment on the snow tubing etc but from what I saw of our balcony looked decent! We just wanted a relaxing trip away.... There is an assortment of gift shops with plenty offerings. they don't open that early though. 10:00 is their opening time. We wanted something out the shop when we checked out at 09:00, but weren't going to hang about for an hour. For me, it ticked the boxes for a quiet hotel, comfortable bed, hot shower, decent enough food and coffee in the rooms. Our final morning we chose not to do anything at the hotel itself, we got up early-ish, skipped breakfast here, checked out and went to Quebec City to the Strom Nordic Spa. Spa-wise exactly what we were looking for (covered in another review). Overall, even though not much to do in the evening, during the day it's a great hotel to visit for things to do and we will come back here in the summer with our kids this time to do the water park activities!

We booked a King suite, resort view. The bedroom had a window and the view, and the sitting room was essentially a dark closet. We voluntarily downgraded, without refund, to a regular, parking lot view, room without a separate bedroom to avoid the claustrophobic feel of the suite. The single room is the same size as the suite but without walls, so bright and spacious. The hotel is great for families for sure. As an adult I liked the vibe of the lobby with the jazz playing in the background. There's a bar, a few restaurants, a cafe, all indoors at the hotel.

This has to be one of the poorest experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. First of all, we reserved a king suite, telling them that there was 5 in our family. They assured us there was plenty of room to sleep all 5. When we checked in, I again wanted to confirm this and they said the room would be set for 5. If not, just let them know. When we got to the room, the king suite, which by the way was very small, had room to accommodate only 4—1 king bed, 1 Murphy bed. I called the desk and they said they would send up a cot. Not sure where we were going to put a cot in this very small “suite”! I had to call twice more, and on the final call they said they no longer had a cot—they had given them all out one was broken so they couldn’t supply one. I said this wasn’t acceptable—we had 5 bodies that needed to sleep. They said they had come up with a solution—a guy arrived with a mattress that we had to squeeze over in a corner on the floor! That was the solution for the entire weekend, all for the price of $500 per night!!!! Now today, we’ve asked twice to have our room cleaned. It’s 8 pm, and it has never been done—not even clean towels!! When I go to the front desk to finally get clean towels, they say there is no one available to clean at this time. I asked at 10 this morning and again at 3 this afternoon! It’s not because they’re busy cleaning the dirty hallways!! Not even any apologies —it’s like it’s tough luck!! The poorest service I’ve ever had at a hotel hands down and the most I’ve ever paid! DO NOT waste extra dollars to stay here. It is definitely NOT WORTH IT!

We were looking forward to our stay at Glass Hotel for a long time and been saving money for it. Our suite had a fire place that they say it does not provide any heat, but it did and it made stay more comfortable. Sleeping bags were warm enough for a nice night of sleep, HOWEVER anytime we fell asleep there was a loud door banging. Our suite, Suite 2 had a connecting room and the door in between the two that kept on waking us up all night long by banging. The staff should have thought about how to prevent this disturbance during windy days. I am very protective of my sleep and thus was very upset not being able to get my rest. The morning after staying at the Glass Hotel we heard that blizzard is coming in and we asked if we could stay at the hotel another night. The manager was helping the girl at the front desk and we been told that we can stay another night if we pay triple the advertised price ($318). In addition we were also told that they are completely booked and that is the ONLY room that was available. We looked on the internet and found out that cost for the same kind of our present accommodation was bit over $100. DISAPPOINTING!!!!!

Cons: flies everywhere, uncomfortable beds, common areas smell like smoke and wet dog, food is disgusting, bought bora parc tickets online - (got charged for them!)and there was no record of them in my email or account and had to pay again at the entrance. Pro: convenience of being in same hotel as bora parc, closed off bedroom, private hottub in our room.

The room was better than we expected. Very spacious, clean and the bathroom floors were heated! We stayed in the ice hotel and had the experience of a lifetime. I highly recommend this. They gave a great orientation on how to prep for your stay in an ice room. Didn't like the restaurants though. We drove to St. Hubert which was approximately a 15 minute drive away

Pros: In the same building as Bora Parc which is amazing. Arcade- Super fun and tons of games. Room layout- the Murphy bed in the living room plus a king bed in a separate bedroom is good for families. Cons: Not the cleanest. The duvet for the Murphy bed had no cover. The fleece blanket had a sticker on it from someone’s air Canada luggage tag. The food!! There is no door dash in the area. The only nearby restaurants that deliver have French menus and no online ordering. The restaurants in the hotel were not great and closed early. One night after the water park we walked to the gas station to get popcorn for supper. No daily housekeeping. The garbage by the elevators were overflowing and stunk. No microwaves in the room. Only one microwave per floor by the elevators. I have no idea if I’ll be back again. Although it’s super convenient to be on site of the water parks, I think I would rather have access to food.

The staff are clueless with a very BIG LACK of customer service. 1) If you don't request cleaning service at reception for your room, no cleaning staff will come. 2) ZERO quality restaurants which are overpriced!! Tasteless quality food that should be on an episode of Kitchen nightmares! Majority of food is all fried junk, do not order the pasta Bolognese from Safari that pasta comes out of a can "taste"! No coffee shop, no place to have a dissent brunch, it was horrible which was the main reason to shorten my stay at this hotel. 3) unorganized with Bora parc-schedule- I purchased a Sunday all day pass to this water park. On website it said Park opens at 9 am, the staff advised the parc opens at 10 am.. Ok fine.. No big deal, then my family stayed at the park from 10 to 12:30, my child was tired, she took a nap, then we went back to the water pack at 2: 30 pm, by 3:10 pm the parc was closing from 3:30 to 5 pm?? Then re-opening at 5 pm to 8 pm? I just was livid, should a park be opened all day from 10 to 8 pm without interruption? If only they had a chart displaying their hours for their hotel guests to see? In the end, if the hotel wants to survive this should hire more competent staff with a Hyper focus on customer service, better quality restaurants, and better organization on scheduling. If the above actually occurred then I would have not checked out 1 days earlier. I never is got compensated for it, BTW. Never again.

Kids throughly enjoyed the indoor water park and a quite well equipped arcade Hotel room extremely spacious for 4 adults and two children in our party Also note room was clean and well thought out Only negatives are: I suggest you venture 15 minutes out to find highly rated restaurants for dinner and breakfast as choice and quality at resort appears suspect and Flies! The place has a serious issue with flies in all general areas- I was told something to do with a turkey farm?

This hotel acted as the back suite to the Ice Hotel Suite which we were staying at, and then we also kept our suite at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac as we weren't sure what we were getting into. It's important to know that Hotel Valcartier is nicely done up, it's clean, great open spaces, art work, and lighting which try's to set the ambience. Having said all this it was busy, full of kids and families running every which direction. We couldn't wait to leave as the walls were paper thin and you hear people in their rooms, in the hallways etc. The food offering was till 8pm and we ordered wings, cheese sticks, etc from the Safari restaurant. There was a long wait to order, and get the food, as the restaurant was completely under staffed. The food tasted more like something you'd get out of a food court from a mall vs a high end hotel. We paid $1000 for one night, which got us a suite in the Ice Hotel that came with private hot tub, and sauna, fireplace (this suite wasn't available until 9pm), so the suite at the Valcartier was a great resting stop to change and get ready for the Ice Hotel. We left the Valcartier Hotel at 3:30am via Taxi - We decided to leave at that hour as we were finished with our Ice Hotel experience, and we didn't want to deal with the large groups of people that were staying at the hotel later on in the morning, so we returned to our Fairmont hotel room in Quebec city. One way taxi fare from Valcartier to Fairmont was $70.00 - There was a nice lady who phoned a taxi for us. The hotel offers lots of fun things for kids, so I can see why this place is popular with families. It's a nice place for families with kids. For a couple with no kids, looking for a quieter place, not so much

Loved this hotel!! The rooms are huge! We had a king room and the murphy bed for the kids was great. It was very comfortable. The TV had video games and movies. The bathroom was large and the floors were heated. We thought it was great! With a beautiful view of the ice hotel and the winter playground.
