It has been quite some time i have stayed in a 5-star hotel but if, like me you are nostalgic for an era that was more about class than money, you will love it. The staff really made it for us as i hadn't had such good and genuinely friendly service since Quay West on the Rocks in Sidney. We had our last dinner in the restaurant and the flavours equalled le Manoir aux Quatre Saisons, which is my reference. As many places like this it has neen bought over by a foreign investment company and will be destroyed next year., to be rebuilt over the next 3 years as apartments, if my sources are right. A hefty price tag? Yes but a memory that will live long after the hotel is gone, in my daughter's and my memory. Un charme desuet, where you expect David Niven to pop in for a cocktail.... Cheers!
