Beautiful views, amazing staff, great breakfast. We had room 4 which seemed to be the farthest from the bar. It was surprisingly quiet Friday night, but it was low season. With the balcony door closed and AC on, we had no issues with sound. Also centrally located so accessible to everything

I decided to book this hotel when I saw that it was beach front. The ocean view room looked amazing and I wanted to stay here. I was aware of the hotel being between two nightclubs when I booked and I was prepared for it. Communication before I checked in was excellent. Instead of trying to deal with a shared shuttle, I booked the hotel's private transportation service. When I left customs at the chaotic airport, I was relieved to see my name on a sign. The trip was bumpy but the driver was excellent, and got me there safely and I managed to deal with the language barrier as a solo female traveler. As soon as I arrived to the hotel, I was well taken care of. The front desk staff was outstanding and friendly. All of the staff I encountered was very nice, of course there was a language barrier sometimes but we made it work. I am in another country with a different language, I cannot fault a place for this. It's extremely tacky to do so. I loved the aesthetic of the hotel. It's the eco luxury vibe with lots of wood and bambo. Room 4 I had room 4, a deluxe room with a balcony looking over the beach. WOW. I almost broke down in tears when I saw the view. I checked in as soon as the sun was setting and it was surreal to see. The Nicaragua sunset is one of the most stunning I've seen. People have to sit on the steps of the beach to see the sunset, but you can sit on your baloney with a glass of champagne if you choose. There were lots of convenience stores with alcohol for purchase nearby. My room was comfortable. I enjoyed the waterfall shower but note that they use a water pump so don't expect a lot of pressure, but this is the normal in the rest of Nicaragua. MUSIC I could hear one nightclub in the bathroom (makes for a great shower) and one by the balcony. Over the music, you can hear the ocean. The music was not too bad, with the AC and the TV, it drowns out the noise. I'm a city person though and I'm used to a lot of noise. I am a light sleeper so I ended up using the ear plugs and I also bought an eye mask. I slept fine, and in the early morning the music stops and it's very peaceful. The music also drowns out your hotel neighbors which is an added bonus. BREAKFAST I went downstairs just after 7. I didn't see a breakfast set up so I just went to the pool area to read. Someone came up to me and asked if I wanted breakfast. They offered a full Nicaraguan breakfast with coffee and juice. Breakfast was a delight and I enjoyed the coffee. After checkout, I was able to leave my luggage and wait for my shuttle. I felt very safe at the hotel and the surrounding areas as a solo female traveler (although it's a bit of a challenge to walk around at night due to all the uneven sidewalks). The only downsides I experienced was that I was not given a wifi password and it was a bit of a struggle to get it. They need to post the passwords in the room especially since each floor has a different wifi password. The safe was also locked when I arrived but

Great customer service from Alfredo and team. I was very impressed and highly recommend this hotel. Good location, has a restaurant and great views. The rooms are diverse and accommodating and as stated, the good customer service is what is really important.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The noise from Club Arribas between 11 PM and 3 AM was brutal; the earplugs provided at check-in hinted at the issue. Additionally, I noticed some stained linen sheets and curtains, but despite these drawbacks, Room 7 was a beautiful choice, especially with its spacious terrace.

This is the first time that my wife and I traveled to Nicaragua so I did some homework to create our itinerary. We made reservations with confidence that the pictures, amenities and services at Hotel Alcazar were what we where looking for. We got there Friday afternoon and went to the front desk to check in. There was no staff at the desk or in the Hotel except a security person who was not very friendly or knowledgeable. The lobby was outdated, not appealing, and you can tell that the images on their web site where from a very long time ago. The web page featured a bar, and the bar was just a façade, completely empty, not open and no staff. The outdoor pool was tiny (more like a jacuzzi ) and the surroundings unappealing/outdated. We lugged the baggage up to the 3rd floor, entered our room and it was a total downer. Very outdated, dark and dingy. They claim on their website that they provide "toiletries" yeah, one small bar of soap! oh yeah, they claim on their website that they have a spa service, on site spa, no spa at all. We spent the night as our driver had already left and hardly got any sleep due to the party bars open till the wee hours and the noise was unbearable. No sleep to speak of (this is the only reality posted on there website) By the way, in the middle of the night, We got thirsty, I went down to the lobby there was no water available or even a machine to get a bottle of water that I could get/ or purchase. I had to walk across the street/under the rain and buy the bottle of water The next day, we where up and about very early due to the lack of sleep and ventured into town. Also a disappointing experience, very dirty surroundings. Very far off from the postings about this area. We decided to leave this terrible hotel/area, as we where waiting for our driver we started the checkout process and requested a refund except the night we slept there and they would not cooperate with us stating that we had to pay the night we stayed as well as the rest of the time. When we stated all of the misleading images of the facility and falsehoods on having a bar and spa, or even drinking water within reach. Alfredo/front desk paid no attention at all stuck to their confusing cancelation policies completely ignoring the false advertisement on their web page about the hotel and their false amenities and we where charged all 5 nights! Disappointing and even depressing experience. No way to start a vacation! Vacationers Be Ware of the false images/ on site amenities of Hotel Alcazar in San Juan Del Sur Nicaragua!!! Luckily we found Tree Casa Hotel and had a great experience!

There is not place to park your car, extremely noisy place, music so loud until 5 am, on top of that I had a room in the fourth floor, and there is not enough pressure in the shower so most likely taking a shower takes forever. We went to hotel plaza Colón in Granada and then coming to this hotel was a huge change, Plaza Colón was amazing but this place, totally the opposite, so think twice before you stay here.

Great location. Attentive staff. Amazing breakfast! However, reading the reviews prior regard noise was definitely helpful. It’s noisy! Earplugs are a must. But the location was very central so perfect for walking/adventuring around town.
