Restaurant food and service was excellent.
Keycard usage was terrible averaging about 15 tries to open door AFTER maintenance tried to fix problem. Bed mattress was old and soft with almost a hole in the middle.
Available shuttle service to St. Armonds was convenient
and good.
The hotel is old and run down…charging a resort fee on top of the room charge is ridiculous.

The Sandcastle property is closing in a few months for a long-planned redevelopment. The current property is a little shabby, but it has a great pool area, great ocean front, great restaurant, wonderful staff, easy free transportation to St. Armands shopping area. We were initially concerned that some aspects looked dated, but we came to appreciate the facility and services and found ourselves wishing to return while it still there.

We loved being right on the beach and enjoyed the sunsets. Bathrooms and rooms could use some updating. Staff was very nice.

We've stayed at the Sandcastle twice. The staff was very helpful and being to afford a gulf front room was amazing. The pool area was pleasant and well kept. We heard the hotel is being considered a tear-down. We hope this doesn't happen for a while. The rooms are tired, but clean. I would rather have the hotel the way it is and be able to afford some nice restaurants.

This was my 4th year vacationing at the sandcastle resort. We love the a**osphere staff is always friendly and helpful. We saw a lot of improvements this year. Sad that they are planning on tearing down. It has so much history and us very affordable for a middle class person to stay at the beach

The place is falling apart. Our first room had a toilet that ran all night and a tv that was facing the floor. The AC handler was so loud we couldn’t sleep. They changed our room. The faucets in bathroom and shower were so hard to pull on that I almost crashed into the wall when they finally opened.. but the WORST thing that happened was a fall off the bed!! Queen mattress on a twin frame!!! And when we complained to the manager her reply was … NO ONE ELSE HAD A PROBLEM!!!! As the maintenance man was in our room changing out the bed frames. Will never stay there again!!

Great location, tired property that needs lots of updates. But if you’re looking for value right on lido beach then this fits the bill … if they fixed this place up to its full potential it would be twice the price.

Older property which is part of its charm and relaxed a**osphere. Beautiful private beach. Great pool area Good restaurant, particularly for breakfast poolside, with friendly staff

I know the hotel was right by the bay and the pools were great. But the room was cheap, out dated, and not maintained well. The door knob fell off, there was a water puddle near the front of the door, and the shower made noises and the shower floor was not level. The facets, what built in the 50s!? No microwave. Even the cheapest hotels have a microwave. We were offered free coffee between the hours of 6 to 7am. Wowww. Rooms need a lot of work. But why fix up? Shoot the hotel is right by the water. I just can't believe the money I spent to stay there. I got cheated. I just think have some pride..
