Lovely friendly hotel in a beautiful part of our planet. The dawn chorus is the only noise that wakes you. Breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed seeing the old photos as well as the music. We would definitely return and recommend Cross Keys Inn.

A lovely stay in this beautiful part of the country. Good food, great staff and very nice surroundings. Bedroom tastefully decorated with all the amenities required. There is also a nice beer garden at the back for sunnier days. The Cross Keys Inn was a great find.

Charming, welcoming and superbly run pub/restaurant/rooms. Cross Keys is set in a beautiful part of the Borders in a delightful quiet village with a really strong community feel. The pub and restaurant were fantastic with a great menu and completely dedicated and friendly staff. We met several local residents who were just as welcoming as the pub staff! An excellent hospitality venue and seriously well worth a visit. Can't wait to explore more items on the wonderful menu. We stayed at the Riverside Cabin a few hundred metres away and that was a superb accommodation option as well. Wonderful place!

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful from the moment that we arrived until we left to go home. The hotel was clean and fresh with a relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food although the portions were too big. The wild mushroom starter was delicious and Mandy made affogato for us even though it wasn't on the menu. Thanks, Mandy.

This lovely village pub was my local when I was a teen back in the 80s and where I had my first job. It was the hub of village life back then. It's seen not so great days since, but has finally returned to its rightful place at the centre of the community for both the locals and visitors. As a visitor, the pub was a great location for our trip down memory lane on foot to my old house at Brockhill and by car travelling up and down the Ettrick and Yarrow valleys. We relaxed in the very tastefully decorated and comfortable Brockhill room (the shower was a very welcome addition 😉) and enjoyed excellent breakfasts and evening meals. It was great to catch up with Rory and hear all about how the the pub has been brought back to life and then a very lovely surprise to find a couple of glasses of fizz provided 'on the house' in celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary. We had a great couple of nights and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. I am sure we will return.

Not that I should've been surprised having read the other reviews before I booked it, but the Cross Keys was just my sort of place. A very interesting building in a quiet location. The staff (I didn't catch their names unfortunately) also really make this place what it is - from the friendly welcome through to the cheery breakfast service. Our room was small but very comfortable, with great views. Dinner was very tasty and excellent value. The bar got very busy with people eating and stopping by for a drink - clearly a popular destination for cyclists too - so the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend

From the well-appointed en suite rooms to the warmth and cheer of the pub, the Cross Keys exemplifies Scottish hospitality. The food offered (including an exquisite fish pie) is of a quality in keeping with the fresh and flavorful ales on draught. Mandy and Debbie, you made all of us feel as though we had been your friends for years. Thank you! Cheers

Received a warm welcome and spent the evening in the bar where a “Play your cards Right” game was organised. Most of the regulars joined in and was a fun night. Evening meal was excellent, and definitely a standard higher than normal pub food. Our room was large and very comfortable. This pub has been decorated to a high standard. Breakfast was buffet plus hot food menu which was perfect. The staff were friendly and diligent.
