Sea Cliff Hotel

We had a lovely stay at Sea Cliff Hotel for May 1st break. This is what I liked: - buying ship ticket for May holiday was mission impossible, starting with Tickets App not accepting foreign passports. Hotel helped me with arranging the tickets both ways, even after there were no tickets online (sold out in 20 min) - they arranged a pick us up on arrival and brought us back to the pier on departure - hotel has an excellent sea view location, very silent and sea centric rooms, same for restaurant - everything is modern, I specifically liked ability to share Apple screens on TV in the room, great way to review photos and watch own movies in the evening - good breakfast 8 to 9AM, you can come 8:45 and enjoy a late breakfast as well; we also had late lunch in hotel restaurant on arrival, great food, great to seat outside, flexible working hours (not closed 14-17!), actually I liked their meals more than what we had on the main beach top restaurant, finally reception can brew you a coffee though bit hot - there is 20 min walk from the hotel for a great bay and coffee place to watch sunset, excellent experience and no need to wake up early - hotel was always online on WeChat to address any issues or questions, including how to organize a day, fantastic services! - hotel has own beach area, looks like good to swim, I will consider for summer, water is clean on the island, and this is just couple of hours from Shanghai - small drawback: fishing boats pass by from early morning, this may disturb your morning sleep ;) - other thing the bed is a bit too hard for my back, but where did you see soft beds in China? Overall: highly recommended!

We got upgraded to a room with balcony. The rooms are spacious and the view was fantastic. We are vegetarians and the receptionist arranged special vegetarian dishes for us which were delicious. Also they arranged at a time suitable to us. There is a beach about 10min walking distance from the hotel but one can’t swim in the beach but a good view. Also Shang Hai Qi Guan is a 30 min walk with a fantastic view of the island from the top. Overall a great stay. We just stayed for one night.
