Beautiful place. Nice stuff breakfast incredible.

Everything about this place is exceptional. I genuinely believe the service is worthy of a high level worldwide. You’re made to feel so welcome, but it isn’t pretentious. The little details are done so well, to the point where you look anywhere and you’ll likely see something beautiful and intentional. The grounds send you back to the last century and you do not feel like you’re only a 4 minute drive to the heart of Hobart. The view of Mount Wellington. Just everything. This is world class. We ended our 12 night Tassie holiday with 2 nights at the Islington, as a celebration for a milestone birthday. The good: the Wellington suite is generously proportioned, breakfast was impressive (we had an early departure and the chef kindly prepared an early cooked breakfast for us), the grounds are well kept and the bed was super comfortable. The heated bathroom floor is a good touch. The disappointing: on arrival it was straight to a guest lounge room for ID and payment. We were then guided through the dining area and straight to our room (a more in depth tour, explanation of some details of the hotel, and the offer of a beverage would have been appreciated). Some aspects of the room are starting to look a little worn and in need of attention. The wifi in the room was non-existent (the guest compendium wouldn't load on the in-room iPad). We booked a 'Love Actually at Islington' package which included a 'curated chocolate hamper for two'. After an attempt at a discreet enquiry about the hamper, we returned in the afternoon to find a very sad Easter basket, with a few chocolates that looked like they had been scrounged from the staff fridge (our stay was in late April). Our room had a lovely bath, but no indulgent bath salts /oils on offer, and the towels are on the small side.

We love everything about our experience in Islington Hotel. The interior design, ambiance, lighting, soft music captured all our senses. Every area has an element of escape that tells a story. We especially love reading about the century old history of Islington. The location, view of Mt. Wellington and the garden was gorgeous. We very much appreciate the thoughtfulness and warmth of the hosts. Jacob has given us a tour of the property when we arrive and made sure that all our needs are met. Tea and the sweet treats were a delight. Breakfast was delicious.

My husband and I had an amazing and memorable stay at Islington Hotel. The accommodation was beautiful and the daily breakfasts were 10/10. On arrival, we were greeted by a very polite gentleman who carried all our luggage to our room. The view from our room was gorgeous and the property was well kept and manicured. The welcome snacks and evening tea was such a nice gesture and always excited us when returning from our Hobart adventures. We highly recommend the Islington Hotel and will definitely stay again when we return to Hobart.

My partner and I had the most amazing stay at the The Islington Hotel! The hotel itself had a stunning aesthetic, with a French provincial style throughout. It’s also a short walk to the CBD, with direct access to bustling suburbs like Sandy Bay and Battery Point. The hotel restaurant was also noteworthy, with delicious food served up every day. The staff were all so attentive and accommodating, and this really elevated our stay. A big thank you to the hotel manager Mark, who made us feel at home upon arrival.
