Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Stone Town. Good spacious rooms with all amenities. Breakfast was fab , an excellent choice available and served with a smile. The special Valentines dinner was delicious but the singer was far too loud and conversation was difficult.

Krishnan and his staff were excellent, and made us more than welcome! The hotel is right in the heart of Stone Town, a perfect location for walking the streets and sightseeing! The rooms were nice, a little on the small side, but the bed was very comfortable, with a nice walk in shower. All in all, a great place to stay, when visiting Zanzibar!

My room was very comfortable, if a bit overpriced. Unfortuately my view out the window was an alley of rusted roofs and infrastructure - this was #203 - more like a very comfortable cell. The electricity went out in the middle of the night making it very hot. However, the rest of the hotel was pleasant, the upper floors are surely preferable, but you must be able to walk up.. lll in all a good, safe location and nice staff. I wish they would have either put me in a better room or charged me less.

We visited the hotel for dining in its fine restaurant facing the famous Rock restaurant in Zanzibar. Fine dining in affordable price. Beautiful boutique with local designers clothes and accessories. Friendly personnel and courteous service.

Very nice rooms and delicious meals The waiter is adorable, her name is Lydia and she was the smiliest and most efficient person there :) A huge thank you to everyone who made us enjoy this place The rooftop is great

Good hotel if staying in Stone Town. Reception staff, especially Benjamin, was very helpful upon arrival, booking taxis and restaurant reservations.
Pool is nice and breakfast was good as well.
Would say prices in the shop were more like London and Paris prices, so stayed away from that, which is unfortunate as they have some nice bits.

the place is very disappointing, no outside view, a lot of noise during the night, a little information on arrival. Despite everything a good breakfast with a nice view of the rooftop very nice. Pity

We stayed as family for our last 2 nights at Zanzibar here. We liked it very much. Very friendly and helpful staff with excellent food in the restaurant on the top. Also pool is nice on the top. Location is very good to walk around in town. We would come back again.

I stayed at Upendo House for a week while in town for a conference. The room was very chic, comfortable for my week in Stone Town, and all the staff were very helpful and accommodating. While Stone Town is small and nothing is very far, Upendo House was very close to everything and easy to navigate to. The rooftop was beautiful with some of the best views I saw while in Stone Town. On my last day I had a deep tissue massage which was excellent and relaxing, much needed after my week of work!
