On arrival to the hotel, it was clean spacious and well kept, checked into room and nipped out for some food as we had arrived late. Rooms were lovely and clean and well maintained the whole trip. Food- edible snack bar by far the best food on site and the man who works there absolutely lovely. As with all buffets can get quite repetitive and boring after a while. But there are plenty of nice places to eat off site within walking distance. Staff- bar staff and restaurant staff have been some of the most miserable and rude people I have ever met. I have never been to a hotel where you have been unable to engage or have a laugh with the staff and this was a real let down here. Animation team- could use some improvement, a better range of games to keep visitors interested we only saw staff poolside playing games twice while we there.. There is aqua gym and yoga daily. Night entertainment was a bit dull although entertainer vicky was very upbeat and tried really hard. She is wasted here but her enthusiasm is infectious and we wish her well. Pool- not a massive amount of sunbeds, 1st week unless you were down by 7am you weren't getting one, however by the 2nd week the lifeguard was removing towels from beds if people had left them, this worked well because it meant when you came down at 11 there were Still beds as people weren't bothering to lay out there towels early. Pool could really do with some repairs, there were several tiles missing and we went as a group of 16 and several of.the party cut there feet in the pool. All in all stay was enjoyable but a few things could be adjusted.

It was our first time to Bulgary and we went for 14 days. We stayed in a big studio with 2 toilets. There was one 2 pers bed and 1 sofa that was seperared so our 2 daughters could sleep. The bed was too hard. The hotel did try to seperare the sofabeds more but it still is not a bed but a sofa. The cleaning was perfect and every day new sheets and new towels! The food was a large variety you can chose from. But the basics (pasta, pizza, rice, salad) stayed the same. The food was never warm enough as the ice-cream was always melted... My husband went to the pool every day at 6.30 to lay towels but even then a lot of beds were already reserved. Worst thing in the hotel is no wifi in the room and everywhere else in the hotel unreliable. Animation team are hardworking, especially Vicky!

I was really happy at this place , use to live in Bulgaria 🇧🇬 back in 2016 and come back after 6 years , what a great experience at this hotel 🏨 superior room , great food , space and good beach 🏝️ very close by foot. You have the old town nessebar in 15 min with the bus 🚌 number 10 for 2 euros 💶 with air conditioning. And Bulgarian people never disappointed me.

We arrived about 2am to check in all very smooth we were adked if we wanted anything to eat but just wanted to get to rooms we were shown the rooms a worker helped us with cases all very good the room is nice very clean and comfy the whole hotel is spotless the meals have plenty off choice and very tasty. Slightly repetitive but nice the only bad thing was the pool where you could not get a sunbed ever unless you got up at 6 to race for one every day when you did go in for a swim you saw all the empty sunbeds with towels on I personally think the managment should take every towel away after 40 mins as some towels down for hours with no one on them. Reception staff very good and will help with anything all staff are very good would def go to this hotel if back at sunny beach

Got back from our first visit to Sunny Beach yesterday (19/07) so this was our first experience of a hotel in the resort. The Baikal is a beautiful hotel even before you walk in, the lobby is large and we were greeted well on reception and there was even someone who took our cases and showed us to our apartment. Our apartment was on the 5th floor on the north wing and overlooked the rear gardens but not the pool, The apartment was of a good size for the 2 of us (one having the bedroom and the other having the lounge area, but it would have been a bit overcrowded for 4 people. Was surprised that there was no kitchenette with it being an apartment but we were all inclusive so that wasnt really a problem, and there was no kettle provided either which would have been nice for the cuppa before bed or in the morning. Again not really a problem as we asked at reception and was lent one. There are no safes in the rooms so please be aware of this, for the first couple of days we left the "do not disturb" sign on the door and after that only got maid service once and that was only to empty the bin and leave a couple of fresh towels, so hardly a service, on another morning we were late leaving the room and asked the maid to return in 10 mins as we were due to leave, we were scowled at and no longer had any service. Also please be aware that if you have mobility issue there is no direct lift access the the 5th floor on the left wing, so lift to 4th floor and up a flight of stairs, again not a problem for us but worth requesting a different floor if mobility is an issue. Sadly most of the staff seemed pretty miserable and rarely cracked a smile even when spoken to. The restaurant is large and spacious and offers a great choice of food and the food (what we had of it) was always delicious, the main problems I found was the almost constant massive queues for every serving, we didnt bother with breakfast after the first morning and opted to eat out and found the same with lunchtime servings too. The evening servings are from 18:00 to 21:00 and we opted to eat around 20:15 as the queues had died down a little and there was actually somewhere to sit and eat but do not leave your half eaten food unattended (or even with your travel party) as plates are cleared regardless of food content, this happened to my travel partner as he went to get a drink from the bar and his food was gone even though I was sat at the table and he couldnt get anymore food as at 20:45 it seems the food is starting to be cleared away from the serving area. My biggest problem was actually the other guests, it seems being mainly German, Russian and Bulgarian. Now I have no problem with other nationalities but I found the other guests to be extremely rude and the restaurant was just a wall of sound with them all trying to talk over each other. No this is not a problem with the hotel, just something people need to be aware of, If you dont mind competing with others to be heard then thats f

Just got back from a week at the Baikal Hotel and we had a wonderful time. Staff very friendly, animation team superb and hotel in great location with beach and shops on the doorstep. Beautiful spacious bedroom with view of pool and whole hotel spotlessly clean. The food choice was very good and was something for all tastes, only criticism was queues in restaurant were very long at times.

We arrived at the hotel on 18/9/22, in a hired car. We were told that there would be charges to park at the hotel on a daily basis, but never mentioned the how the security of the barriers worked. The security barrier was all ways down for our car to come and go. One day when we returned back to our bay , they accused us of breaking the barrier, which was old and rusty, and charged us 250 Lev or face calling the police and jail. Avoid this hotel, if you are English. The reception staff are arrogant and try not to understand English
