Tokyu Stay Hida Takayama Musubinoyu

I stayed here again after my trip to Kamikochi. It's super convenient as there's a bus stop right outside that takes you to Kamikochi in about an hour and a half. Getting to Shinhotaka is also easy. In the morning, I even walked to Kokubunji Temple, which was only a 7-minute stroll away.

Takayama is a beautiful city, so charming it's hard to leave. The hotel is super close to the JR station, just a 1-2 minute walk. The breakfast was the most basic I've had in a Japanese hotel; aside from the local tofu, there wasn't much special about it, and the taste was just so-so. The front desk service was pretty average, but sufficient.

The location is incredibly convenient! It's only a 2-minute walk from JR, 3 minutes from the bus terminal, 10 minutes from Takayama Market, and 3 minutes from FamilyMart. The room was clean and came with a washing machine and microwave. There's an outdoor foot bath on the 9th floor, and indoor and outdoor hot springs on the 2nd floor. The men's and women's baths switch daily, so you can enjoy different styles – so thoughtful! Getting to Takayama from Nagoya and back was super easy; no need for a private car at all.

Traveling to and from Nagoya by bus, this hotel is super close to the Nohi Bus Center, making its location very convenient. Hida Beef Restaurant Ajikura Tengoku is also nearby, about a 3-minute walk away. The room felt a bit small. The Premium Twin room is probably meant for up to three people, but for two guests, it felt like a waste of space. The hotel's cleaning service was also minimal; they changed towels and emptied the trash, which was sufficient. On the second floor, you can enjoy drinks and relax. I didn't visit the large public bath, but I did try the foot bath, and since no one else was there, it was quite relaxing.

The facilities are quite new, and they even have Refa hairdryers. The hotel is no more than 100 meters from the JR station, which is super convenient for transfers. The hot spring is also good, but you have to pay extra for the private onsen.

The location is very convenient and the design is unique. It's perfect for travelers stopping over in Takayama. Both the private and public baths were a great experience. It's clean and tidy, and the room size was quite satisfactory compared to other Japanese hotels.

The hotel has its own onsen (hot spring bath), which was lovely and not too crowded. While the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it had a good variety of both Western and Asian options, and everything was delicious!
