Unfortunately Langmeil Cottages did not live up to our expectations. We were not met on arrival, which was not a major concern, however the key to the unit was left on the back door of the owner's house, but there was no note on the door of our unit to say this was so. There were no 'Bubbles' on arrival as promised, and these did not appear until the next day after we advised this was the case. A bit late by then. Prior to arrival we advised we would pay by EFTPOS (direct bank cash transfer), so that we could avoid being charged an additional $10 credit card fee. In spite of this we were still charged the fee - a rip off and unnecessary. The design of the Cottage was strange to say the least. There is a large 3m x 2m 'hole' in the wall between the bedroom and living area that transmits both light and sound into (and from) the bedroom (lack of privacy!) If one is trying to sleep, and another watching TV or working on laptop this is a major issue, and there are obvious others! We have never stayed in a unit where there is a hole in the bedroom wall. The AirCon was on Hot when we arrived, and not being familiar with these kinds of AirCon units where the control panel is hidden from view, we endured a very warm and muggy night with the AirCon turned off. The owner rectified this the following day while we were out, but by then it was too late - some immediate responsiveness to this problem would have been expected. The oven door would not open fully as it hit the bathroom door frame. The outside lighting at night is very poor, with no lighting from the carpark to the door of the unit, and only dim soffit lighting outside the unit. A plant outside the front door of the unit with a protective wire cage around it was a death trap in the pitch dark - twice we tripped over it. I have a healing serious leg injury, and not being able to see obstructions such as this could have set my recovery back by 6 months. It was very fortunate indeed that no further injury was sustained.
