Terma Linca Resort and Spa

Good hotel with a nice river flowing by the side. It has four blocks and the construction was nice. Although the rooms are a bit old fashioned, the room has a specific smell or carpet and some old room odour. The garden is nice. Food needs a big upgrade. Overall nice for an evening stay, but too expensive for the prices

We picked Terma Linca because the photos looked beautiful, and in person the hotel did not disappoint. Made up of a series of stone buildings running parallel to the river on the outskirts of Thimpu, Terma Linca's location is peaceful, and really gorgeous. Watching the sun set over the peaks as the ruddy shelducks waddled home was a lovely way to relax after a long day. The rooms are exceptionally large, with very high ceilings and windows that let you appreciate the view. The beds were also large and comfortable, but the bathrooms are showing their age somewhat and could do with a refresh; they feel like bathrooms from an inferior hotel. Some reviewers complain about the lack of lights; this is not the case, however the switches for some lights can be covered by pillows on the bed and thus hard to find. We enjoyed the traditional bhutanese clothes in the wardrobe to try on. The highlight for us at Terma Linca, after the impeccable customer service, was the food. I have a feeling most of the clientele at this hotel come from India and the staff were very open to cooking western food on request. However, my family and I love Indian food, and the restaurant's default mix of local Bhutanese food and Indian cuisine was very very good. I had the best made-to-order roti I've had at the restaurant here. All in all this is a nice spot to spend a night when in Thimphu.

Heaven on earth is what I can say about my stay at the hotel … I travelled with my mom who is 78 … right from reservation of rooms to check out was smooth . The ambience was royal . the river next to the room was the highlight . Staff were v courteous warm and helpful . It was like living in the lap of nature . This 4 star hotel is better than any 5 star in the area is my personal opinion . Exceeded the Value for money . And my expectations .

We stayed at Terma Linca for three nights in two separate occasions within the week. Nested right on the outskirts of Thimphu, Terma Linca is probably one of the better options for a quiet stay. The view along the bank of the river is simply amazing. The room itself (we stayed in a Deluxe room) is quite large with basic amenities clean and intact. The bathtub’s condition leaves a bit to be desire (some scratches and stains) but still clean enough. The breakfast and dinner buffet options are quiet good with the omelettes as the star. Wonderful service from the staff as well. One minor thing that would keep it from being a top choice is the way some of the rooms are designed. For one of the nights we stayed we were in a room where there aren’t enough light / power switches. Before we went to bed, we actually had to pull the key which cuts off most of the electricity, ventilation, and lights, making the travel to the bathroom quiet difficult. That said, it was just a bit of a minor nuisance for April, but I can imagine this to be a bit of an issue come winter time.

Exceptional comfort, calm and serenity. The most spacious rooms to stay in, wooden furnishing a contemporary treat of Bhutanese culture and hospitality. The river running by is just an amazing view!!!

Excellent property. Excellent service. Delicious food. Superb location. They kept local dress for a couple and helped us to wear and click pictures. Really enjoyed stay here. One of the best places to stay in Thimphu.

Excellent property! What a location! Loved everything about this place! People are so nice, and simplicity is at its best! They provide their National Dresses in all the rooms & they even come and dress you up for your photo session which was quite commendable! Service with a smile!!!

We stayed here for 2 nights, and it was really an amazing experience to stay at this property. Riverside property with huge garden and mesmerising views. Everything about this property is just top-notch. Rooms were quite big, washrooms were clean, and toiletries provided were amazing. Staff was polite and helpful. The food was great. Excellent cleanliness. No complaints at all. Just a small piece of feedback: There is so much crackling noise coming from the floor when someone walks. This can be improved.

The resort n spa was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The spa should however be avoided . The food was amazing, with a wide selection of dishes to choose from, each one delicious and beautifully presented. The Chef prepared local dishes on our request and some of it is worth trying . I requested him to to learn them however time did not permit . It was kind of of him (chef) to share the recipes so that I can cook it myself . The resort's location was perfect, surrounded by willow trees , apple trees etc and overlooking a stunning river view . One can enjoy the picnic by the river on request . . Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this resort n spa to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing vacation.
