Kithala Resort - Thema Collection

Superb resort!! Have paddy field view rooms !! They are sustainable!! The rooms are new and very good! Less options for veg options also recommend if they can mark it’s a green veg mark for all veg options Overall a very good stay go for it

Let me tell you I have travelled round the world but nothing compares to the hospitality of Sri Lanka. When we arrived in Yala a bit early we were welcomed so warmly by the staff , did the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Our room was ready even though it was way before the checkin time. The rooms are perfect over seeing the pool and rice fields , green green all around with birds chirping and seeing the peacock fly around. Food was exceptional and for the safari they packed breakfast around 5:30 am. Let me tell you just go with KITHALA and don’t think trust me, felt like home. Must mention few of them like the chef Saman and his entire team for preparing fabulous food. F&B supervisors - Iresh and Janith. Benji wathsala and ka ishka. Thank all the housekeeping department and but obviously the ever smiling front office everyone. Sorry I don’t remember everyone’s name but thank you for making it a memorable holiday.

A small but charming banquet hotel over looking a paddy field which makes up for its size with nicely furnished rooms, friendly staff (A++) and a restaurant filled with farm to table delicious organic food made by an experienced Sri lankan chef. I’ve been to katharagama multiple times in the past few years and stayed at hotels like Tamarind lake, chandrika hotel etc but this by far blows all of them out of the water. Kithala will be my go to place anytime i go to Katharagama in the future. Now the cons (more like things to improve than cons). The rooms were spacious the bathroom was smaller than usual especially the shower in the lower level could benefit from a bit more space. Even though the food was great and there was variety, as a vegetarian unless you are able to handle traditional Sri lankan food, you will not have much in terms of choices. So this is something the Hotel should look at. Overall AAA + stay and we had a relaxing time at the resort. Thank you…

I stayed at Kithala Hotel on June 2nd and was thoroughly impressed. The service was exceptional, with special thanks to Salinda Gunasena for his outstanding hospitality. The rooms were impeccably clean, and housekeeping maintained high standards throughout my stay. The food was delicious and varied, showcasing fresh ingredients and excellent culinary skills. The hotel's calm and quiet atmosphere provided a perfect retreat from daily life. Overall, Kithala Hotel offered an unforgettable experience with its top-notch service, pristine rooms, delightful food, and serene environment. Highly recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

First I must convey my sincere gratitude to Mr. Sharafath ( Sales Executive Thema Collection) for all arrangements made for overall all along with other properties of Thema Collection. Out of All that I found Kithala is the best one with Hospitality and Creativity. Location is a strategical location Areas Near By - Kataragama , Tissa , Yala , Weeravila, Mattala Airport. Attractions Near By Kiriwehera, Kataragama, Tissa Tank , Tissa Stupa, Yatala Stupa, Yala National Park, Weeravila Tank. Road Access - Colombo Kataragama Road, Expressway in 20 minutes. This is amazing property by Thema ,facing to stunning view of a paddy fields and align to water bodies. Hotel is almost fully booked on the date that I booked, seems 40 Room/Suites were full with Families. But with the capacity and capabilities of Hotel staff the arrangements were made nicely. Based on what I have understood there were two Main Leadership Characters who run the operation with their passion. Mr. Indunil ( if i not mistaken , he was the Manager F & B ) , Mr. Indunil is the truly hidden Gem for this Kithala property. and He is an experienced guy to handle the operation. He was spend few minutes with all guests to understand their requirements to customize it as much as they wish, that's his passion. and Mr Dilshan Front Office Executive , he is a young guy with innovative ideas without any ego. Mr. Dilshan and Reception Girl were handling Front Office well, by welcoming us with wet towels and welcome drink as a customary way, and then they invited us to light the oil lamp before we start our stay. This is somewhat unique experience for all guests who visited this nice property. Then Reception girl direct the us and all guests to respective room/suite accordingly. Room - Facing to Paddy Field. Special Thanks to Mr. Dilshan and Team for offering Fruit Items to the room, it was really delicious. Shampoo and Body Wash and Hand Wash - This property has it own product, that's really amazing , all are herbal product, We love them very much. I thought buy these products too. Public/Open Areas - Clean and Tidy , Maintainace Team done the Job well. Swimming Pool - It has Baby Pool too, and also It contain swimming support items for babies. This is very first time i have ever seen in Sri Lanka. Amazing idea. Buffet and Food - Having nice spread with action items were made my appetite more and more. All in All the Lasagna was the best food item which we were really enjoyed. Thank You for it Mr. Indunil and Chef. Before conclude I would like to Thank the Stewardess , Girl who always with a smile face and more care on my baby at the Dining Time. And Thank you very much for 03 steward ( Boys ) too. Finally I must give my regards to Mr. Indunil who cared my daughter's meal very well , even without I proposing / asking he arranged it well, It was really meant to us. And thank you very much for the all staff by making our stay with many experiences and happiness. Suggestions :

We wanted to experience a blend of Sri Lankan tradition and modern ambience, and Kithala was the perfect destination. I enjoyed every moment at this resort - the staff, food, and surroundings were everything I had hoped for. As a bonus, it's located close to Yala and Bundala parks. The resort can also arrange Safari jeeps upon request.

We traveled as a family of 10 to Kithala Resort. We had an amazing experience and the customer service was exceptional. The rooms and meals were all very good. A very special thanks to Mr. Ananda (Manager) Mr. Shirantha (Asst Manager), Ms. Surangi, Mr. Indunil and all other staff who made are stay a very pleasant one.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights with a group of 10 people. The staff was amazing and helpful, and the food was delicious. Since we visited on weekdays we had the pool all to ourselves due to the low occupancy. The hotel arranged a safari to Yala for us, which turned out to be a great experience. They even packed breakfast for our early morning safari, which we greatly appreciated. The staff made us feel at home, and we definitely plan to visit again someday.
