All at Farmstay have made us feel very welcome. A great and chill place to us to take on a slower pace and enjoy each other's company. Children have already requested to return next year! Our cabin 4 is a nice stroll to main building to animal feeding and horse riding. I believe that it has just been renovated with new bathrooms and heater while retaining the rusty feel of a farmstay.

Took my two children (4&7) and they were in kiddo paradise. From the picturesque mountain views, to the trickling creek -perfect for little feet to splash in and spot tadpoles and tiny creatures, to the gorgeous array of farm animals and the tranquil unpowered campsites nestled between the two leafy green mountain sides this could not have been a more relaxing weekender. We got to join in on the damper making and billy tea but will be back again really soon for feeding the animals, milking cows, riding horses, whip cracking displays and enjoying a splash in the cute little pool with gorgeous views and a play in the children’s playground. It is a country resort so nothing is sparkling but it’s all apart of the adventure and being in a character location in the crisp country air, so mind the bull ants under the toilet seat and be sure to bring some closer shoes or keep an eye out for the occassional cow Pat. But as I said to my kids with a smile and a laugh, this is the country! Enjoy! It’s all a part of the learning and experience of being alongside nature and you sure don’t get to see stars like that in the city 💛 magical, magical, magical place for kids (and “grown up” kids alike).

We had a powered camping site. No-one else there because we chose to go after the holidays & long weekends. Over the long weekends it is very crowded. Great camping, good grassy areas, plenty of campfire places to use. The cabins looked like they need an upgrade & a coat of paint. The toilet& shower facilities could be a lot better!! Very cramped in the shower, only one shower in each 3 has hooks for clothes. They are only demountable port-a-loos. Better off brining your own. Some money could be spent on building some decent shower & toilet facilities. The amount of people they get over the holiday month of April was massive. Could be the same excellent facilities like Cobbold Gorge Nth Qld, beautiful facilities & less cost to camp. Only my humble opinion A lot of truck noise from the highway.

Visited Bestbrook for a family weekend. On arrival the location was stunning but from there it went downhill quickly. The cabin from the outside looked tired and the inside was just as bad. The place generally was dirty with rodent traps in various places. The bathroom looked like something from the victorian era, the cooker was dirty and one of the couches had no cushions across the back so if you sat on it your back was resting on a hard wooden frame. Outside the main seating area looks as though it had not been painted for years with some areas showing signs as wood rot. Neither the front or back doors would close properly. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. At nearly $900 for 2 nights the expectation was 4/5* not 1*. In my opinion Bestbrook is one step down from camping. On a positive note the staff we good and the activities included were excellent

What an awesome place to visit, great activities for the kids, sensational food, hospitality is always above and beyond. We booked two cabins and had two caravans as well, plenty of room and laughs around the open fire.. we will be back.

The family spent 2022 Easter out at Bestbrook Camping at Cap Creek. As always we had a great time, very relaxing and enjoyed the activities that they had to offer. My daughter and her friend enjoyed a horse trail ride with Bruce and his team and we all had fun with the whip cracking, damper and billy tea making and the boomerang throwing. Thanks to all the staff for making this another enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back again soon. highly recommend this place.

Such an amazing place for kids and dogs as well as adults. All the activities are awesome. There’s a 4WD track that was a bit hairy but so much fun! The gnome cave walk was really cool. A tad slippery as it has rained a few days earlier. Where proper shoes or gum boots. We camped in the tranquility area and the creek was so close and pretty down there. The kids floated down on their boogie boards. The food at the restaurant was great!

Was disappointed in the facilities for what we paid! We are a family with 2 young children plus a baby and paid $90/night for unpowered camping, plus another $30+ for firewood. The closest toilets to us was a port-a-loo with no soap or water to wash hands. $90 a night is what I would expect to pay for a manicured powered site at a caravan park with large clean amenities blocks, not for a patch of grass in a paddock! Sadly the creek was dry when we stayed, I can imagine it would be pretty when the creek does flow. We did the gnome walk with the kids, which was advertised as EASY for the whole family! This was NOT small child friendly, we had to carry our 3 year old most of the way. I really wanted this to be an incredible place, but I sadly left feeling disappointed and ripped off.

The environment is stunning. Cabins are extremely simple for the price but do give a very relaxed country farmhouse feel. A simple addition of 2 pillows per person would be appreciated by guests. We really did love it but as a horse owner myself I felt concern for the obviously unhappy state of the horses. My ride was not enjoyable, my horse was obviously miserable. We would go back for the environment, the staff were fantastic and the working farm displays were educational and fun.
