Staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us get transportation and gave us recommendations of locations and best ways to get around. They have security at night in the property which makes you feel safe specially when traveling in a girls group. The room had a nice layout and a wonderful balcony to enjoy in the mornings and evenings. On the last evening I booked a massage in the room, Santiago was my massage therapist and did a wonderful job. He was very professional and did an amazing job. Would definitely request him if available.

A solid 3 out of 5! Nothing hugely wrong (except bar/restaurant staff attitude and location), but nothing amazing either! We upgraded our room from small beach front to larger pool side, which I’m glad we did for a couple of reasons. Upgraded room had large bedroom, sofa etc and great bathroom. This room also over looked the beach and had a huge balcony with hammocks. Original room, even though “cute” as on the beach, I wouldn’t have felt safe with the amount of drunk locals that turn up in the afternoon / night to the public beach which is either side of the private one. Food was OK, but not great. Drinks were OK, but not great. Bar/Restaurant service was terrible, some of the worst on our whole 4 week trip in Mexico … but they still expected tips, even when I went up the bar for a bottle of beer! The American culture has really killed the levels of service in Mexico. Location isn’t great (middle beach), as there is only 2/3 restaurants in walking distance from the hotel and taxi’s are expensive and expect tips. We walked to the more lively part of the beach one evening which was ok in the evening, but really not safe at night! Plus it’s about 30/40 mins walk with no paths. Must hire bikes to get anywhere, but be warned everywhere rips you off, don’t believe anyone on Pinterest.

I honestly don't know how to put into words how impressed I was with this place. We came here for a bachelorette trip with 10 girls and stayed at Casa Vallejo and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The house was huge, so spacious, and everything we could've asked for. Our only real issue was that there wasn't a ton of hot water but with 10 girls that was always going to be an issue. The pictures don't do it justice and the pool was amazing. Now for the staff. We read reviews before about how amazing they are but to experience it first hand is even better. Loved the fact that we could communicate with them through WhatsApp if we needed anything and they were always helpful and responsive. They were able to book us shuttles last minute and every reccomendation was perfect. Something that was above and beyond for us was how safe we felt. Anyone who was scheduled to be picked up by us or was to come into the place had to get permission from the hotel and from us. They vetted every taxi we had to make sure we were safe and not getting ripped off. Also, recommend the chef that they work with. He's AMAZING! Also, the views are spectacular and so relaxing

The staff was great, but we slept poorly the first night due to upstairs renters who stayed up late

It's not a 5 star hotel and the shape of the beach is prone to collecting plastic and sargasso, but the care & effort that goes into this hotel is pretty obvious. They don't have a huge capital budget, but they do a lot with what they have. Plenty of little touches that show that they care about the property. The rooms and grounds are put together with local materials and you do get mosquito netting. I think they successfully maintain a piece of "the old Tulum". The restaurant is high quality, but like most Tulum hotel restaurants, not always a great value. If you want to walk down the street, there are a few other dining options near by that can provide a better value, depending on what you are looking for.

This is my favourite hotel. The staff are smiley, friendly and helpful. That applies to everyone that we met there. We had a beautiful cabin with a view through coconut grove to the sea. The decor is really pretty, the beds are very comfortable and there are lovely breezes coming in through the netted windows. We loved having a shower while looking at a palm tree through the skylight. The food at the beachfront restaurant was delicious and well priced. Everything was perfect

Zamas is a great option for those who are just looking for a nice place to stay at a reasonable price, rather than some of the full-package resorts nearby.

Zamas is perfect for our family. A bit of adventure, a bit of relaxation and a bit of the local culture. The staff are all amazing. Daniel, Abigail and Fernando do an excellent job of making sure you’re well cared for. We stayed in Casa Chula, which had all the amenities of a hotel with all the size and space of an Airbnb: full kitchen, 2 private balconies and two floors of comfort. We also loved the restaurant, Alfredo took such good care of our 8 year old at the restaurant. Every day the happy hour was a must. Everyone was so warm and friendly. Would recommend to anyone. (Also I highly recommend the Mexidivers across the street. We had an amazing snorkel in underwater caves.)

Staying at the Zamas was such a great place to call home for our 7 day trip in Tulum. The staff was extremely friendly, caring, accommodating, and just overall amazing! Fernando checked us in and was there for us from start to finish of our stay, while being so kind and made us feel very welcomed. Daniel was super helpful, and showed excellent leadership. Yuri was very knowledgeable and hosted a very unique tasting and sampling of traditional Mayan liquors and special Mayan honey infused items. We will definitely stay here for our next trip to Tulum and will highly recommend to anyone and everyone looking to visit! Thank you Zamas for helping make our experience in Tulum so very special!
