Spectacular hotel. Great design. Lovely rooms. Breathtaking vista. Fires in the bedrooms But….. No slippers. No cotton wool. No kettle (but tea/coffee can be delivered foc) Lovely touches at turn down (hot water bottle), that’s if you get any. I mentioned to reception that our room hasn’t been serviced, only then delivered water on request, still no turndown! The food is the worst we have eaten in Peru. Infact the sweaty mushroom starter was inedible! Service is very slow I’d stay for the view and hotel interiors. But ask your guide to eat elsewhere!

The basic amenities - like room slippers and a coffe pot / kettle were missing. The manager - Youanna was particulaly rude - we expect a much higher level of hosptiality in a property like this one. Would not recommend paying a premium for this property.

We recently stayed in Cabin 19 at Hacienda Urubamba, and while the overall property is beautiful, our experience in the cabin had some major drawbacks. The Good: • The service was amazing—every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and eager to help. • The bed was incredibly comfortable, with great pillows, making for a restful sleep. • The setting was peaceful and private, with no foot traffic near our cabin, which we really appreciated. • The main hotel was well-decorated, and they offer nice perks like free tours and afternoon tea (which we didn’t take advantage of). • There’s a small on-site store, which was convenient for picking up a few essentials. • Breakfast was decent but nothing special—it had all the basics, but nothing particularly memorable. The Not-So-Good: • The bathroom was ridiculously dark—so dark that we had to take our suitcases into the main room to pack because we couldn’t see anything. The lighting is oddly placed on the floor, which made no sense. • The closet space was completely inadequate—just five hangers for two people, and part of it was taken up by the safe. • The toilet had a clear door, offering no privacy. • There were plenty of heaters in the room, but no way to cool it down when it got too hot. We had to leave the doors open, which wasn’t ideal. • Exterior lighting from outside the cabin was an issue—it shone directly into our room. The first night, we called reception to have it turned off, but they forgot, so we had to go down at 11 PM to request it again. The following nights, we had to ask each time for it to be turned off. • There was no tea or coffee in the room, so if you wanted a hot drink, you had to get dressed and walk down to the main area—an inconvenience given the remote cabin setup. • While the fireplace was a nice touch, it wasn’t cold enough to use it. Overall, the setting and service were excellent, but the room design had too many flaws for us to want to return. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but between the lighting issues, lack of cooling, and awkward bathroom setup, we’d likely explore other options next time.

A remarkable hotel. Set in lush grounds (it was March…) and providing a luxurious stay. We were in one of the little cabins up the hill from the main building and this is my only gripe: how good would it have been to be able to make our own hot drinks, especially first thing in the morning. The room was spacious and comfortable - a little dark and lacking a little in clothes storage - again we were travelling for 4 weeks and arrived in the middle of our trip- maybe with more clothes to store than many. The morning walk either a local guide was a good touch, but our abiding memory will be one of clubbable luxury overseen by Cynthia who ran the bar with its roaring log fire… Great stuff

Amazing hotel with great views over the valley and hills behind in a very secluded situation. A wonderful room, which was massive with a large balcony and amazing views. The bathroom was excellent. There was a good bar area with log fire and piscos to drink. Dinner was in a dramatic dining room with good food and peruvian wine. Breakfast was also good although we had an early start and could not fully enjoy it. You need to stay for at least two nights to fully appreciate the hotel.

Stayed here with my two teenagers 3 nights before going to Machu Pichu. Very pleasant staff and comfortable rooms. Not a lot to do on the property except use their small jacuzzi and sauna in the spa, which they charge you a day pass. Stayed here New Year's Eve. The staff, including the manager cleared out and the bar was closed by 10 o'clock. Have never been to a hotel that closed down on their guests on New Years Eve. Also, I arranged with the hotel to have our baggage transferred to another Inkaterra in Cusco, which was never executed. They let our baggage sit at their hotel for 3 days before I called to see what happed to. our luggage. Lastly, I like to wake up, make a cup of coffee. There was no tea kettle or coffee maker in the room, which was inconvenient and disappointing. Lastly, if your goal is to board an early train to Machu Pichu, I would recommend staying closer to Ollantayambo.

I arrive late at night and the kind staff made me a sandwich and a plate of food. My room was a corner suite with windows that looked out at the mountains. Everything was impeccably clean with lovely ambiance. The hotel offer walks around the property and I took the night hike and learned about the Incan legends of the night sky. They even have two llamas on the property!

Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba is a truly stunning property set in the heart of a peaceful and serene landscape. Surrounded by mountain views and the morning chorus of countless birds, it offers an authentic, colorful, and stylish design that blends beautifully with the natural surroundings. The cozy fireplace in the room was a wonderful touch, perfect for warming up at night, and the thoughtful addition of a hot water bottle made it even more comfortable. I took part in the twilight walk with Hiroshi, whose deep knowledge of the local ecosystem was impressive. He shared fascinating insights on the migration of local birds, the flora and fauna, and even the constellations, linking them to Inca culture and astronomy. The spa is a must-visit—a luxurious, beautifully designed space featuring a hot plunge pool and a variety of massage treatments to choose from. It’s the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploration, offering a relaxing sanctuary. The surrounding region has so much to offer, and the hikes around the property are breathtaking. I wholeheartedly recommend Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba for anyone looking to relax, explore, and immerse themselves in nature.
