Paradisus Grand Cana

I would rate this resort a -50 out of 5 if it were possible. I tried to be reasonable but the concierge decided to protect his crappy company instead of making the worst meal in my life right. He said they offered me a better cut of meat including a tomahawk steak. This is a lie

It's our first time going for an all inclusive and we had a wonderful time. We were travelling with our 5 and 8 year old kids. From the time we got there our concierge Julianna took care of everything from check in, to restaurant reservations, spa bookings, shuttle service and check out. She was very friendly and went out of her way to help us out. The rooms were very clean and looked like it was recently renovated. The pools, water park and beaches were all great. They also have a very good spa. The only thing that wasn't a 10/10 was the food. The first two days we were there, the main buffet restaurant was booked out for a private event, and the makeshift buffet at the pool side restaurant wasn't the best. Once we got access to the main restaurant on the third day is when we realized what we missed out on. The buffet there was really good. The steakhouse was average, the Teppanyaki restaurant was better, the sports bar was good, the beach side restaurant wasn't bad, but not too many options. The main buffet was the best option. It's just the pool side restaurant that I would not recommend. Overall was a great experience, very friendly staff. There were enough activities to keep us occupied during our time there - water aerobics classes, knitting, night circus, kids movie night. Also would recommend the professional photographer there, we got some great family photographs done at the beach and the garden - at an additional cost. We didn't even bother with any excursions since we had such a great time between the beach, pool and water park. We would love to visit again.

My wife, toddler and I spent a week at this resort. The resort itself is not far from the airport (20 minutes). The beach is about a 2 to 3 minute drive with a golf cart that is available at the front of the resort. We went during a less busy time so it was always available. At the beach, there is a phone to call for pick ups. Half way through the ride, you can stop to go to the kiddie pool and water slides which we found was great for our toddler. Overall the ride to the beach was quite nice and relaxing and wouldn't deter me from choosing this resort. Our snacks and fridge was refilled everyday and sheet were changed upon request. The buffet and restaurants had a great selection of food and the waiters were also accommodating. Because we went during a quiet time, we were assigned a concierge (Isrrael) who did an excellent job of booking all of our restaurants. The negatives: At check-in, they tried to upgrade us to a larger room for almost 700$USD and that was their special price for us. Our standard room was big enough and already had a separate living room. The jacuzzi on our balcony was so dirty and when I mentioned it to Isrrael, he just brushed it off and said that I probably wouldn't use it anyways. We never got service at the beach. The waiters heavily favored the young teens flashing money and always tended to them. We were always pestered by local sellers to buy things even if we said no thank you. We wasted 2 hours by force talking to a Melia representative to try an purchase Melia memberships (we stayed because Issrael said he would get paid and we felt bad). Some days we had servers at the bar give us sparkling water and other days different servers would deny us and say it's for premium members. And trust me... They really favor their premium members and it shows. Everything is done through QR codes and through your phone (menu, services, room service, etc). I ordered room service once and got really sick for 3 days. 2 months later, I received a whatsapp message from Isrrael asking me to loan him some money.
