The Arnbjerg hotel in Varde. The hotel is located directly on the large park. We had a room on the -1, in another wing. But it was right next to the park. Open the patio door and you were standing on the grass. The room is very cramped. TV against the wall, table with only 1 chair (but table with 2 chairs on the terrace). Large bed, bathroom with shower and toilet. Ok in itself, but cramped and with some weird things. a shower of which the floor rises so that something remains in it. A door slamming into the sink. A key ! instead of a chip or card. A lock that works very strangely. A door to the terrace that you can only close from the inside. so if you want to enter the park you have to close the door from the inside and walk all the way around to get back into the park. You can get coffee and tea from a vending machine in the hallway. Tip, the coffee is very sweet, the water in the tea tastes like the coffee. The chocolate is ok. The dog is also allowed in the room alone. That park is handy, just that detours all the time. Parking is available at the hotel but can fill up very quickly. If you are back late you have to park far from your room. Nearby are plenty of places like pizzeria, fast food etc etc to order and get some food. The breakfast was disappointing. Sitting outside as we have a dog. Not really cold, but still. Every time we had to open a door to get in and then you immediately saw the whole dining room looking because, cold air comes in. Buffet is ok but not really tasty. Filer coffee that is put at your table with such a press. Sandwiches were more air than anything else. Cheese that we didn't like. Cruslie was old and musty. Overall, not a great breakfast. We were here 2 nights. Had a lot of trouble the first night. The hotel couldn't do anything about that. Somewhere in or on the edge of the park someone was standing with a large installation. Loud music and booming bass, especially the banging against the window of our room. It wasn't quiet until well after 2am. Fortunately, the second night was not a problem. The location on the park is beautiful and you can take a tour through the park. The center was not much, but there was also a lot closed (Sunday). We are in the area going to do and see some things. Overall I would recommend the hotel if you are traveling with a dog. It is sufficient for 1 or 2 nights. The rooms are ok and with the wifi and TV you can watch something in the evening. The coffee machine is also handy, tastes differ so others will probably like the coffee. Also the breakfast, we didn't like it. So the 2nd day we didn't have breakfast and we drove straight home and packed something on the way. But maybe others will like it. The hotels in Denmark are expensive. I'm sure there's something better out there for the amount we paid. But Varde was on our route and apart from the nighttime noise this hotel was good enough to spend 2 nights.
