Perfect location in this beautiful city, a few minutes walk away from amenities and main sights. The superior room we had overlooked the canal junction which gave us an incredible view. Although the hotel is close to the touristy area, it isn’t too noisy and there are some quiet streets nearby. The windows were shuttered for privacy although we were opposite the theatre. The room was spacious and well decorated. The bed was large and firm with high quality bedding. (V good pillows) We slept very well here. There was heating for cooler nights/air con for summer. We had a bottle of water a day which was appreciated. The bathroom was a good size with a rain shower, toiletries, hairdryer etc. If we had any criticism it would be the limited storage space in the bathroom (no shelves and nowhere to hang towels) and no drawers in the bedroom for your smalls or coat hooks , but lots of hanging space. We were not bothered about breakfast not being available (and it saves all that associated noise) but there were cafes nearby for a fabulous coffee and croissant ( also good coffee or tea machine in the room) so it worked out well. As it’s an old building there are stairs to climb which aren’t too challenging for most but think about your baggage. We were on floor 2 and are not getting any younger but managed fine. We brought rucksacks though which were handy for walking from the water bus as well . If your budget is flexible or it’s a special occasion, I would say get a water taxi to the hotel. The water bus is fine and cheap but takes an age. The orange line is the best and you can also get the blue and walk from San Marco but it is slow. Water bus stops are very close by. We found the hotel easily ( thanks google). No where in Venice is particularly hard to find as it’s so small! If it’s raining you have Netflix and Amazon! We had sunshine though. The manager was very friendly. He gave us a list of restaurants to try and made a booking for us on the Saturday night to the La Fenice Tavern which is also lovely for a late night pit stop. Restaurants can be horrendously expensive, nice but beware if it’s a concern. Venice is a wonderful city to visit. It was busy at Easter and some tourists are rude but the locals are mainly welcoming and friendly and you can get away from the busy area easily. Venice is easy to walk and well worth it. Watch out for the seagulls in the square:) I would recommend the hotel.
