Danskammer House

My family and I stayed with Linda and Ken at Danskammer House for 4 wonderful days and we simply cannot say enough good things about them! From the moment we arrived at the beautifully restored house, they made us feel at home and by the time we had to leave none of us wanted to! Their knowledge and enthusiasm for the house and the local area is abundant and they were only too willing to share stories, tips and insights based on what we were interested in doing. The house itself was immaculate and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The loft area was a great space to relax and there is also a beautiful outhouse building where Linda would leave afternoon treats and cakes for guests to help themselves. One time they even joined us and we had a lovely time chatting and getting to know them. One of the best parts for us was the breakfast experience! Every day we were treated to delicious food served over several courses mainly made from local produce that both Linda and Ken lovingly prepared. Don't be afraid to ask for more as they are only too happy to feed you!! It really was the perfect way to start our day. In summary, we really couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay with the most amazing hosts!! Thank you so much Linda and Ken - we would love to return one day!!

Excellent! . Clean, well appointed. Knowledgeable kind hosts. Pretty gardens, great breakfast and tea. Close to hiking, walk to waterfall dining. You can see the home is a labor of love. Quintessential old bnb with modern amenities. Has exercise room and equipment. Would be great for a big family too.

Hard to know where to start. We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years - and this was by far the best. Linda and Ken, the Innkeepers have been so thoughtful about every detail: From lots of receptacles to a robust WIFI for those who cannot leave work behind, to the most comfortable beds ever. Even the towels were so soft and fluffy and smelled so nice! The house and the rooms were immaculate. We truly enjoyed and took advantage of Linda and Kens' deep knowledge of the history of the area, and their suggestions about good hikes and which restaurants to try were spot on. We found the gardens a peaceful and serene place to rest and relax. The tearoom likewise was beautiful in its simplicity, and the large window allowed for a "borrowed" view of the riverbank area which we greatly appreciated. And - it is not possible to say enough about the breakfasts- truly gourmet dining! We were sorry when it was our time to go and are already thinking about our next trip to Danskammer House.

The inn is beautiful, really tastefully done, and spotless! The breakfast and afternoon tea and snacks are likewise excellent and tailored to your needs. Linda and Ken have done a great job and it's one of our very favorite places to stay.

I really enjoyed staying in this lovingly restored historic home, which features beautiful and comfortable furnishings. The owners are absolutely delightful and really go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Breakfast was delicious, and the location is great--just across the river from Beacon and Poughkeepsie, but in a quaint and quiet neigborhood just a block or two away from the main street in Marlboro. Would definitely stay here again!

What a beautiful B&B! We were greeted by Linda and Ken as soon as we arrived. They told us a little history as we walked through the house. We enjoyed the afternoon snack and refreshment out on their multi-level zen garden. There's a short pathway on the property that leads right into town where we had dinner. The 3rd floor of the house is a little lounge area where we enjoyed wine and a movie on comfy recliners. The breakfast was outstanding. Fresh squeezed juice, coffee and/or tea, and multiple courses to enjoy. Ken and Linda explained all of the courses and told us where all of the ingredients were obtained. It was such a unique and enjoyable experience. You can really feel the thought and effort that they put into every aspect of their B&B. I can't wait to go back.

Danskammer House is among the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. The innkeepers, Linda and Ken, have created a delightful place to stay. The room was not large, but it was thoughtfully outfitted in every respect. The common rooms were inviting. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Ken and Linda are thoroughly knowledgeable about the area and the history of the area, and more than willing to provide helpful advice.

Linda and Ken have gone above and beyond to create a warm, hospitable place for visitors to the Hudson River Valley. Their delicious breakfasts, afternoon tea, knowledge about the area, including restaurants, museums & other sightseeing recommendations, make a visit to Danskammer House a real treat. Whether sitting in their lovely backyard enjoying the view or curling up with a book and a glass of wine in the upstairs lounge, you will be comfortable & content.

This place is truly wonderful. Ken and Linda are great hosts and make you feel very welcome. The house and the bedrooms are charming and very comfortable. The rooms are clean and decor is beautiful. Linda is an exceptional cook and her breakfasts were delicious and she uses locally sourced goods, some from their own garden. Marlboro is a great little town with good restaurants and lots to do in the general area. I highly recommend Danskammer House and will definitely be returning
