My husband and I have been in Ireland for 3 weeks in Fanore. We decided to go to Waterford to the crystal factory and also to meet a cousin we just found . The ride is 3 to 4 hours so we decided to find a B & B for 1 night. We have been to Ireland in 2016 and I still had my book. I had tried to reach several and none returned any of my messages. I started looking again and called the Belmont House and my call was answered by a lovely, cheerful and exciting lady! We’ll let me tell you Mrs Eileen Landy is what I would call the essence of Ireland and she greeted us by name and with such warmth we just knew we’d enjoy our stay even for one night. It was like meeting a long lost friend. She and her husband are darling. And their home is beautiful, clean, and spacious. Our room was so pretty and comfortable. The living room downstairs was just as homey and we enjoyed a cup of coffee and cookies when we came down to sit and read a bit before going out for dinner. Eileen had suggestions where to go for dinner but since I’d been driving we decided to walk down the road a short bit to a Chinese restaurant/bar. Had delicious and interesting meal, talked with the locals and just enjoyed both dinner and the people. We had a delicious full Irish breakfast made and served by Eileen and coffee and different breads it was so tasty. We’ve stayed in quite a few B & B’s and this is by far the most comfortable and beautiful home we’ve been to. They make you feel welcomed and like old friends! We would have loved to have spent another night but we were off to meet a distant we recently found. If go to that area you must visit this wonderful B & B, you won’t be sorry!
