Laura and Margaret, My first visit to Marlfield House Hotel and I am completely blown away by the amazing experience. This luxurious boutique hotel is easily one of Irelands gems and the best I have stayed in. Thank you for your kind hospitality, the luxurious bedrooms, the excellent food and the wonderful tranquillity of the stunning gardens. Anne O Leary

Fantastic experience, staff were so friendly and helpful. There was great attention to detail. Extremely relaxing stay. Use of mobile phones in the communal areas of the house was discouraged which added to the relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful kitchen garden.

We visited here for a quiet weekend break. The hotel has a mix of rooms in the main house and the Pond Suites. We stayed in a Pond Suite which was a lovely tranquil setting. luxury does come at a cost though! The facilities included a lovely spacious bathroom, large bedroom with seating area and a patio looking out to the pond, Despite the cold weather there was plenty of wildlife activity in the pond.. including an early morning heron. If you are staying in a Pond Suite do bring a torch… the lights on the path are limited. The breakfast is from a menu … all cooked to order so please do allow extra time if you need to get away promptly. Sadly the breakfast service only starts around 8:30am which means early risers like us have to wait quite some time. Sunday lunch in the conservatory was a delight. Even without staying the Saturday night this would be a lovely treat. To recap, this is an extraordinary country house, so expect personal service but not a standard reception desk etc. You may have to go and look for a staff member in the bar to announce your arrival… but their charm and courtesy are worth the wait. In summary a peaceful weekend of luxury.

Just returned from a solo overnight stay in one of the Pond Suites at Marlfield. Was a little sceptical about doing a solo trip but honestly it was like a 24 hour spa treatment with every possible perk and luxury you could imagine. I was truly reinvigorated by the time I left. Nothing is skimped upon, from the little home made treats on arrival, the gorgeous suites, OMG those mattresses, the cosy lounges, complimentary papers, to die for cuisine..truly outstanding dinner and breakfast, most attentive and friendly staff. I can’t wait to get back there before too long. Thanks to all for such an unforgettable experience!

We went to celebrate a special occasion and used vouchers given to us by family so treated ourselves to a Pond Suite. Upon arrival we waited in the main foyer for a few minutes waiting for the busy receptionist to check us in. We gave our name and were given the key to our pond suite. We thought the suite was fabulous , peaceful and just what we wanted. We returned to the main house to have a glass of Prosecco and waited a few minute’s for the bar man who seemed busy to serve our drink. We got some lovely snacks which were welcome. The hotel seemed very busy due to a recital taking place. We then went for dinner in The Duck restaurant. We were seated quickly and given our menus. The food was ok nothing memorable. No one asked us during the meal if we were ok and if the food was ok. The manager passed us by numerous times. We had our 3 courses in 1hr 15mins. This restaurant was very busy and we felt quite rushed. Not the way you want to feel after travelling down and paying good money for good food and service. The bill was incorrect so had to send it back. We returned for the main house for a drink and the bar wasn’t too busy. We only stayed for one drink. Found service slow in the bar. The breakfast the next morning was lovely and lots of choices. On checkout again a busy reception area with one member of staff. The lady got us bill but we were never asked if we enjoyed the stay or any issues. It was quite a cold experience. Not the warm friendly staff we read about in the reviews. Overall we enjoyed our stay and our suite was lovely. The expierence, ambiance and food in The Duck disappointed us a lot. We were underwhelmed with our visit. I have read other reviews and felt like we stayed at a different place.

This is a small family run hotel that is exquisitely presented in a "Regency" style that is reminiscent of a French Chateau. It is clear that every detail of the house has been caregiver thought about. The rooms are very comfortable and prepared to a very high standard. The food in the beautiful restaurant in the hotel is excellent as is the service provided by the staff throughout the hotel. Coming to Marlfield feels like coming home. Highly recommended.
