Sadly for us the hotel was probably the worst we've ever stayed at. It was awful. In the first room we were given there was no wardrobe, no window, the shower was built into the corner of the room with not even a shelf for soap, in fact the complimentary shower gel was left on the skirting board! There were no shelves in the room, the only place to put your things was literally in a hay trough. There was a single bracket on the wall with 3 wire coathangers so we assume this was meant to be our wardrobe? When we refused the room we were told it was the only room they had available so we requested a refund. They did find us another room but pointed out that the room we were initally offered was the one associated with breaks paid for with gift vouchers. We had in fact paid an additional £181 on top of the voucher value £100 in order to have a three night break with breakfast. (a total cost of £281 for 3 nights) This was booked 6 months ago, for a special birthday weekend away. The room we ended up in had mould in the bathroom and thick dust everywhere. The (paper thin) towels had footprints and dirty marks on. On the plus side, the bed was huge & comfy!!! The main hotel stank, The carpets in the corridors are filthy and worn out. The fire door was so rotten that you could see to the outside through the hole in it. The hotel claims to have a picnic area with views and a terrace. What it actually has are tables in a courtyard area (pretty much in the car park) It is also on a very busy roundabout which ought to be mentioned in its write up. The food wasn't very good either. The staff, although friendly, seem so shy they hardly speak. One other couple we met complained of having raw sewage all over their bathroom floor after flushing the toilet. I wouldn't leave a review like this if it wasn't valid. I wish I had been warned.

This place it ok. The rooms are quite tired and ours had a noisy fan outside the window and a light that flashed on the ceiling (smoke alarm I assume) that was quite distracting when trying to get to sleep. I suppose it wasn’t expensive, so ok for one night.

Convenient for town centre. Warm and comfortable. If you go out for the day you will loose your parking space. Park on Halfords till a space becomes available.

Before I left I read a few bad reviews which I totally disagree with now I’ve seen it myself , the hotel is in a beautiful little town the staff were so lovely and polite and very helpful , the building itself was stunning it’s got tons of character lots of little random stairs and doors adds to its beauty it’s old so obviousley it’s not perfect but I think that makes it perfect the little bar was cosy had a little fires going the drinks are reasonably priced the food smelt amazing we didn’t eat there for dinner but it was busy so can assume the food is good , bed was so comfortable room was warm and cosy we stayed in room 8 it had a huge jacuzzi bath so impressed and would recommend this place to everyone il defo return at some point 10/10 for us

Nothing pretentious, good value for money stop over hotel, and an Indian restaurant on site!! Rooms fine, good space, cleanliness and breakfast served very promptly and good quality English breakfast.

Unfortunately, we were not at all happy with the standard of accommodation. So much so, we called for a manager to view our room once we had checked in. Unfortunately, the manager’s first language was not English and it was a struggle to communicate effectively both ways. We paid £126 for one night at The Old Court Hotel. When we entered the room, it seemed as though the decor was extremely poor and dated. The bathroom had patches of white paint over the ceiling which we believe to be covering up the mould issue. Unfortunately for the hotel, they had not covered up all the mould on the ceiling. The toilet seat was not attached correctly and wobbled from side to side. There was a random plug on the bathroom windowsill; the seal around the bath was not sealed correctly; some floor tiles were cracked; both taps on the bath were labelled as ‘hot’; the water pressure was not enough to fill the oversized bath. It was also evident that we could hear conversations between the people in the room next to us. Lastly, in the main living/bedroom, the bed was falling apart. There were patches of paint all over the walls. None of the furniture was matching, and the extension lead for the lamp was across the floor. When we asked for the manager to come and see the issues within our room, we were informed that it is an ‘old building’ and that the man who assisted us ‘only works here’. The hotel and rooms require a lot of attention. Until that attention has happened, I do not feel as though we got value for money and we certainly will not be visiting again, or recommending this place to anyone.

Old building in historic Witney, now a hotel. Warm and friendly. Nepalese menu for next visit! Lovely landlord gave us a ground floor room when he realised C might have difficulties with stairs.

There’s a very good Nepalese restaurant in the hotel, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My room was small but then I’m a solo traveller.

The Old Court Hotel was adequate for a 1 night stay. The decoration in the room was not not great. The main light in the bathroom didn't work, just a wall light and the toilet seat was loose. The car park is very small so parking a big car would be an issue. The Gurka restaurant was good for my evening meal. I didn't have the breakfast as I had to leave before it was available.
