I was in Whitchurch for just one night and needed to stay in town so I was close to my aged parents. The other hotel is out of town on a golf course. The Wheatsheaf was perfect. The bed was really comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the staff really helpful. The beer at the bar was great as was the service. I will definitely stay again

We went on recommendation and the food, wine and service way surpassed our expectations. We have 5 of their small plates, all delicious, but the salt baked beetroot and the pork belly with miso are not to be missed. Whatever you do, don’t walk past this place. Thanks for a great experience!

Absolutely amazing Sunday lunch, the roast pork was tender, not at all fatty, my wife had the beef (which I tasted and it was melt in the mouth). Our boy had the roast chicken and he almost cleared the plate, he was too full for ice cream - that's got to be a first. Only one way to describe this pub/restaurant - phenomenal

Very cosy a**osphere in the pub with the fire going throughout winter, friendly staff and even friendlier pub dog! Great place to catch up with friends. We particularly enjoy their specialty cocktail menu. There is also a lovely beer garden for the summer and it’s dog friendly too!

This is a great family run pub with rooms. Booking was simple. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. Our room was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was superb, lots of choices and the full English was perfectly cooked. Our whole experience was top drawer.

Popped in for lunch on a cold grey day. We both had beef and mushroom pie with dark green cabbage and lovely chips. Log fire and a lovely, friendly dog to fuss. Just lovely ! Good service and friendly staff.

Lovely guest house, rooms really nice and well appointed, food fantastic. Pub was busy a real friendly local which is evidently a focal point of the local community. Building is really nice with an open fireplace being a real focal point, only downside was room was very cold other than that highly recommended

We visited as a party of 6 for Sunday lunch and the whole experience was wonderful. With a mixture of dietary requirements we all had a memorable meal. Portions were generous and the quality and variety of vegetables was commendable. The roast potatoes were nearly as good as mine (my families opinion) praise indeed. This is a lovely restaurant and pub, great to see both eating and drinking combined for a welcoming warm a**osphere. I was only sad I had no room for desert, maybe next time and yes there will be a next time.
