Xining Chengzhong District Hotels

I was initially a bit worried after seeing numerous negative reviews online, but my actual stay turned out quite pleasant. **Pros:** The hotel is centrally located, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. Right across the street is a trendy chain restaurant, a famous cultural heritage spot frequented by celebrities; even at 9 PM, there was still a queue. The room was quite spacious and came with all the basic amenities. Cleanliness was satisfactory. Breakfast was rather plentiful, and the rice noodles were particularly good. However, the coffee could definitely be improved; if it's instant, there's no real reason to go to the breakfast area for it when I could just make it in my room. **Cons:** As many online reviewers pointed out, the elevators were quite slow during peak hours. What was surprising was that housekeeping was doing their cleaning during the morning rush hour. Couldn't that be scheduled for a different time? The hairdryer is quite old and could do with an upgrade. Also, the small bottles of toiletries were genuinely difficult to dispense; this is definitely an area for improvement. **Overall:** While the investment in physical facilities is evident and good, there's still room for improvement in the details of their operational service.

This hotel was great. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the beds comfortable. The A/C worked and you couldn't hear noise from the hallways (well-insulated). The translation capabilities were lacking, but you could make do with your own app. Breakfast and dinner were great. If i came to Xining again, i would stay here.

When planning our trip to Xining, I was a bit concerned about adjusting to the altitude, so I paid special attention to hotel facilities. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. The air conditioning was strong and kept the room cool, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. The in-room oxygen concentrator and humidifier was incredibly practical; my elderly family members found it very helpful, experiencing no shortness of breath and sleeping wonderfully. Its proximity to the bus stop also made getting to Ta'er Monastery very convenient. We'd definitely stay here again!

It was almost 11:00 pm when we got back from Qinghai Lake and Chaka Salt Lake, and we were still hungry. The hotel is very close to Mojia Street. We bought some food at the night market and hurried to check in. Unexpectedly, we made a mistake in booking the wrong room type. We went to the front desk and they quickly changed the room type. It is very convenient for shopping and dining, and it is not far from the train station and attractions.

We booked last minute and we were pleased with the room arrangement, which perfectly accommodated our family of 5. ⭐️The room was clean and equipped. ⭐️Perfect location, easy transportation. ⭐️Staff is extremely kind and helpful. 😉Breakfast room gets crowded, however we were promptly informed at check in and given options to get food from the buffet and eat it elsewhere. Note: we only had breakfast at the hotel once and we were able to find seats and food. We usually left the hotel before breakfast for our excursions. 😕Elevators get crowded at rush hours, which might mean long waiting time. 😕Individuals smoking in common area. ❗️Those two points are not really due to hotel management, since the building hosts several other businesses. For this same reason, hygiene standards in the common areas are not up to rooms’ standards. It was not a big deal for us at all. It is a good choice for active travelers! I recently stayed at Xining Hot Spring Holiday Hotel and I was very satisfied with my stay. I especially want to write a good review for this hotel. First of all, the hotel's front desk staff was very considerate and gave me a free room upgrade and breakfast. Throughout our stay, the staff maintained a smiling and friendly attitude, always attentive to every guest's needs, whether at the front desk or in the restaurant. Secondly, the hotel's facilities are very complete. The bed in the room was comfortable and soft, giving me a good night's sleep. The shower in the bathroom has strong water flow, making bathing more comfortable. The hotel also provides high-speed and stable wireless network, allowing me to stay in touch with friends and family anytime and anywhere. The hotel's food and beverages are of excellent quality. Breakfast provides a variety of choices, whether it is Chinese or Western dishes, to meet the taste needs of different guests. All in all, it is a hotel worth recommending.

We found the hotel easily. The lobby seems to be shared with another hotel. Check-in was possible even late at night. The reception staff upgraded us into a room with a window which was nice. The room in itself is small but functional. The bed is small but comfy. The TV worked well. There's a laundry room that you can use for free but the dryer mode doesn't work. The amenities are outdated and cleanliness is really not what you would expect. Our toilet seat was broken, the sink was dirty (we removed some stains with just water and toilet paper) and it was leaking. The walls have some very nasty stains on it and there's dust and stains on many things inside the room (bedside tables, fan, wardrobe, bedside lights, etc). One very annoying thing is that when you don't close your door properly, there's a loud alarm that quickly starts ringing. Unfortunately, when it's breakfast time, many people don't care and will leave that to ring until they come back, and it's very annoying. Breakfast is Chinese food only and not that great. Plus it is served in a very small room where there's definitely not enough space for everybody so you might have to wait. On the second day, housekeeping took our bath mat and didn't replace it, so we had to use another towel. On the third day, despite putting the ”do not disturb sign” on the door, housekeeping knocked several times until told that we didn't need anything. I mean it's nice of them, but the point of having the sign is not to be disturbed. Depending on when you take your shower, the water can be a bit dodgy (fine at night, but in the morning, it goes from burning to barely hot to burning again which can be annoying). The layout of the bathroom is weird as well as the toilet protrudes in the middle of the bathroom making it complicated to move around, exit the shower or even use the sink (especially since ours was leaking all over). Shower glass doors also don't close properly so lots of water is coming out. Our laundry string was broken so we had to find another way to dry our laundry. I think it's important to note as well that as foreigners, we have been followed to our door by some other guests, and were stared at by others until we entered our room and closed the door which didn't feel safe for my girlfriend. All in all, if you don't care about cleanliness, then it's ok as it's well located.

We had a great time at Xining. The hotel's location, staff and service were excellent. We had smooth and quick check in and check out. While they couldn't speak English, they did their best to understand and answer my questions. The view from my room (19th floor) was great. I thought I could take some cool long exposure pictures in the night but there were very big bright lights close to our window that didn't let me. One thing I noticed was that the breakfast was mentioned to be both Chinese and Western, but it was only Chinese. I wish I had this clarity so I wouldn't have picked the room with breakfast. The entrance was not super convenient especially if you're carrying a lot of luggage. Since you'll have to help yourself, prepare accordingly.
