The room is smaller than the York Hotel. The room is in a relatively modern style, but I don't like it very much. The overall tone is darker and a bit depressing. The hotel breakfast is also average, there are few choices, sausages or other meats are very salty, maybe salt is not expensive 🙃

Would recommend the hotel overall but the room was not great, dreadful lighting, can't turn the Aircon low enough, no windows so just got hot and stuffy whenever in the room.
Roof top terrace was also shut which is a shame as this was one of the factors when booking.
However it was clean and the staff were friendly so they get a 4

This was a comfortable hotel and in a good location for the train station and iconic sites like the Shambles and the Minster. It is located on a busy junction so ear plugs advised for traffic noise if that bothers you. Was shocked to see they charged £25 for breakfast. They did try to offer the perk of a £12 cocktail voucher but found it easier to nip to Costa for their breakfast nap and coffee deal for under £7. I think the hotel needs to rethink their pricing structure a bit.

Booking this Hotel we expected to be blown away but were sadly disappointed. When checking in were greeted by a receptionist who constantly called us 'duck' and promoted an upgrade to another room for £20 a night which would get us a fancy coffee machine and a fabulous view! What a con!
The room was no bigger than a standard room and the view through our grubby grey curtains was of the shop on the side of the hotel and traffic lights! Yes we had a coffee machine but no better than you get in a standard room in some lesser rated hotels.
The bar was very expensive and the service was sometimes slow. The evening meal in the restaurant was part of the deal we had and was OK but again nothing mind blowing.
Anyone staying here there are a few nice restaurants nearby and a pub across the road which has live music sometimes.
Definitely wouldn't stay in a Malmaison again after this.

In city centre, convenient car parking diacounted by hotel. Staff courteous and friendly. Hotel clean, room was spacious.
