The hotel staff were brilliant, the food great. Weather fantastic. The pool however was green when we went, the decking damaged and flies everywhere. Mosquitos in the grass by pool. The beach and sea were fantastic but were a 15 minute walk on horrible roads, to be fair I was pushing my disabled wife in a wheelchair. Not for us

We have been visiting this hotel each year since 2015 with a short break due to Covid restrictions. We love the peace and serenity of the hotel. It is situated at the very edge of Kalamaki. The beach is about ten minutes walk away along some quiet country lanes. The rooms in the hotel are simple but very clean and comfortable. They all have balconies, a fridge and are air conditioned. Tea and coffee facilities are provided but, rather bizarrely, milk isn't. You have to purchase your own from the local supermarket but that's a minor annoyance. It is all-inclusive and my wife and I consider the food excellent. The restaurant offers a mixture of international and greek dishes with excellent salads. The presentation and cooking is first class. There is also a snack bar that runs for most of the day serving a varied menu to suit most palates. The restaurant itself is very pleasant with floor to ceiling windows on one side that can be fully opened when the weather gets too hot. Drinks are all-inclusive and measures are generous. The hotel has a good sized swimming pool and jacuzzi. A garden is adjacent to the pool area and sunbeds and umbrellas are in plentiful supply in both areas. One of the hotel's biggest strengths is its staff. Most of them have worked for the hotel for a number of years and are related. They are all very friendly and work hard to ensure that everyone enjoys their stay. There is entertainment a couple of nights each week, mainly local music acts of a very good standard. The hotel is not far from the flight path of the nearby airport and there is noise from take offs and landings. Some people might have a problem with this but most people enjoy the spectacle of the the activity. Flights generally end around 11.00pm and start again around 6.30am but their frequency varies and the noise is short lived and periodic. The hotel grounds and gardens are pleasant and well maintained. We look forward to visiting the Bitzaro Palace again in 2024.

Everything was great the hotel was spotlessly clean and the food and service was amazing. Especially the desserts these were unreal. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

What can I say about the Bitzaro Palace that hasn't already been said? Cost. Holiday was a late(ish) Tui booking, £1,250 for 10 nights which is probably on the money for a 3* hotel. Prices on the main ***** aren't too bad, 50Euro gets you a meal for 2, starter mains and drinks. I can definitely recommend The Parthenon, best meal we had by some margin during our stay. Location. Superb, close (10 minute walk) to a lovely beach where 10Euro gets you a pair of sunbeds and an umbrella for the day, not a lot on the beach, small shop, a few pedalos and a restaurant bar. Plane spotter's paradise, the hotel is very close to the airport although after a while you get used to it. 5 minute walk to the main *****, the hotel is located just off the end of the *****, multiple bars and restaurants, gift shops, vehicle hire and day trip outlets. If you fancy a decent walk the town of Laganas is about 3.5Km along the beach, bit more of a party town if you're into that sort of thing. Room. Enough for us, twin beds sadly rather than a double, enough cupboard space, tea/coffee facilities and a fridge for your own use, nothing at all in the fridge. No free drinking water although 2 Euro gets you 6 x 2 litre bottles from reception. Bathroom had bath, shower attached to the taps and a hairdryer. The basin is the most God awful square block, soap shaving foam etc sits on the bottom when letting the water out. The usual toilet paper goes in the bin situation. Safe in the room for which you need to get the code from reception at some cost. WiFi worked in the room but speed was awful in our room (303). Food/Drink. Although we ate out for 4 of our evenings we didn't think the food was a bad as some reviews mention, the cocktails however weren't good. Pool area. The separate jacuzzi shown in some images has been removed and replaced by a sun bed, an area of the main pool serves as a jacuzzi of sorts and a further area for tiny tots. The main pool is fine but cold, does seem to have more than its fair share of bugs floating in it though. The side of the pool away from the hotel is where most of the poolside sunbeds are however this is in shade for most of the day owing to the trees that have shot up since some of the promo photos were taken, furthermore these trees seem to harbour tiny light-brown bugs that, if you're on that side of the pool, are a constant irritation. The hotel side of the pool gets the sun, however there are no umbrellas. There are futon type beds also surrounding the pool. There are also a couple of garden areas with sunbeds and umbrellas. Entertainment. Next to none. No animation team it's a hotel not a resort, no pool table (as shown in one of the images) and also no 'little tykes' toy area. Some evening entertainment by way of a singer/guitarist murdering Whitney Huston, Adele etc. Zante town is a 20 minute ride on the land train which picks up on the main ***** about 25 meters along the main road, 8 Euro gets you a return

We have found this hotel to be a lovely chilled out place. This hotel is for adults and nothing to do for children. On the whole the staff are very good apart from the bar man in the main bar is a little grumpy and not very sociable. The restaurant is very good for a hotel this size with a good choice. The snacks in the day are made freshly to order which is a nice touch . The rooms are good, beds ok and cleaned daily. The only reason I would not rate this a 4 is due to the air conditioning not being on in October. Not only does it make the rooms too hot but you have to keep open the doors to sleep, unfortunately everyone else is doing this so the rooms are very noisy as you get everyone out inside later and insects in the rooms. I understand the cost of putting on the air on but a fan would be a nice touch at this time of year. We did ask but was told the only fan on site was already allocated.

We are repeat visitors, and totally get the slow chilled out style of the hotel. We arrived for check in which went as smoothly as ever. Straight to our room that we had requested and got. The food was the best all inclusive food we have had, with a small but lovely choice of food which is replenished regularly, so none of those massive trays left standing for hours. There was a selection of fish, meats, moussaka, pizza, fresh roasted pork with all the trims. Salad bar was full of variety and flavours. Room was cleaned daily with bedding and towels changed every other day. You can get sun towels from reception for a 10 euro deposit (refunded on departure). The staff are great, all very friendly and although working very hard will find time for a chat, if you make the effort to say good morning. The drinks are ok but could be better, especially the wine. Yes drinks are served in plastic/paper cups for the pool side, I'm ok with that as no risk of broken glass. Yes there are the local mozzies and wasps, that is the island, not the hotel so why be critical of their presence. Dont be put off by the negative reviews, it is a clean and pleasant small family owned hotel.

We brought our 14 month old for his first holiday and Bitzaro Palace Hotel did not disappoint. The staff were amazing, we had a medical emergency the first night where our son ate something that caused an allergic reaction (the first time it’s ever happened) and they instantly arranged a taxi to take us to a local medic. Once we arrived back they called our room to make sure our son was okay (perfectly fine!) The food was amazing, the snack bar and the small cakes they put in the accessible fridge during the day were excellent. There was a huge range of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you aren’t going to struggle to find something you like. We got chatting to some other guests and mentioned this was our first all inclusive and they said that we’d shot ourselves in the foot by having such amazing food at our first all inclusive haha! The cleaners were lovely, knocked before entering and left the cleaning until later in the day if my son was napping. They noticed that he wasn’t sleeping in the travel cot they provided as he cosleeps with us. So (without us asking) switched our bedding to double bedding instead of single bedding so our son didn’t fall down the gap inbetween the mattresses. That’s amazing! I would have gotten round to asking but they took the initiative! The hotel is a 5-10! Minute walk from a very nice beach, you can rent 2 sunloungers and sturdy umbrella for €10. The sea was lovely and warm, there are fishes close to the shore too if you take a snorkel! We came at the end of the season so many of the restaurants in Kalamaki town were closed or closing up which wasn’t a problem for us as the food at the hotel was wonderful. Yes the pool is cold, but after sunbathing it’s actually nice and refreshing. The children’s pool could do other some artificial warming though. The decking needs an oil but apart from that it’s fine! The gardeners were out every day, tending to plants and fishing out leaves from the pool. All the staff are lovely, welcoming, accommodating, and if you have a child they try to interact with them. Honestly I’m not sure what the bad reviews are for? Flies and mosquitoes on an island? Shocking! A *slightly* green pool which is from the tiles. We’ve talked about rebooking in the future for sure. Definitely recommend! Oh and you get to see the occasional plane go overhead!

As always I read reviews before booking somewhere and as always I book and make my own mind up. There have been some rather scathing reviews about the Botzaro Palace, all totally unjustified. I had emailed the hotel beforehand askng for a ground floor room with a shower ( not a bath with shower attachment), when we arrived we found out that the emails hadn't been read and we were given a room with a bath. After going to see Petra we had a room change which was brilliant, it wasn't too much trouble for her and it was sorted swiftly. Hotel - many parts are very up to date, some are not. I feel that the bathrooms could do with some modernisation, maybe putting wetrooms in all of the ground floor rooms for the less mobile guests. Food - all the food was lovely, my partner is a fussy eater and he always found something to eat. Everything was flavoured brilliantly, it's the best food we've ever had. Excellent. Cleaning - absolutely nothing wrong with the housekeeping. Maintenence/gardening - there were guys there every day doing various jobs, no issues. Pool area - yes, the pool looks green, this is due to green tiles! Half of the sunbeds are in the shade until the afternoon but generally not an issue. The decking could do with some attention but it adds to the charm of the hotel. Mosquitoes are a problem, they seem to be Deet immune, nothing stopped the little critters having a feast. Other bugs that we saw were - 3 ants, 2 grasshoppers, 3 lizards, 2 snails, 1 slug, 1 praying mantis and 1 cat. Overall, this hotel is lovely. The staff are friendly, polite and conversational.
