Dongyang Shijiazhuang Flower Hall, a full house of carved Republican mansion

Dongyang Shijiazhuang Flower Hall, a full house of carved Republican mansion

Shijiazhuang Flower Hall, located in Shijiazhuang Village, Weishan Town, Dongyang City, Zhejiang Province, is known as the "First Flower Hall in Jiangnan". Shijiazhuang Flower Hall was built in the first year of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty (1909) and was completed in the fourth year of the Republic of China (1915). The whole house is intricately decorated, decorated with a large number of exquisite wood carvings, and integrates traditional crafts such as stone carvings, pile sculptures, and murals. It can be called the pinnacle of Dongyang wood carving and architecture during the Republic of China. This is a one-hall three-hall structure, 34.5 meters wide, 21.6 meters deep, covering an area of 745 square meters. It is composed of a mirror wall, three rooms in the main hall, and five rooms in the east and west wing rooms. It is symmetrical and is a typical thirteen-room head residence in the Dongyang area. This Republican mansion hidden in the countryside also has an inspirational story behind it. The owner of the flower hall, Ye Zhangchao, lost his father when he was young and his family was poor. Once in his uncle's mansion, he hugged the pillar and looked at the eaves. His uncle joked with him: "Little ghost, don't look east and west, if you have the ability, you can also build a house with such thick pillars." Ye Zhangchao said at the time that he would build a bigger house when he grew up. Later, Ye Zhangchao devoted himself to the ham business, set up a business in Shanghai and Nanjing, and became the richest man in Shijiazhuang. So, he decided to build a mansion full of carvings. Because of the war, the construction industry was very depressed, many craftsmen had no work to take, and they encountered years of drought, and the villagers were hungry and cold. But the Ye family had a lot of food. All kinds of craftsmen involved in the construction of the flower hall can bring their families to eat, without charging for meals, and without paying for work, the work only seeks good and not fast. More than 50 craftsmen, led by "Carving Flower Probe Flower" Lu Lianshui, meticulously carved here for more than three years. Compared with Huangshan Bamen Hall in Yiwu, the two have many things in common: First, they are both national key cultural relics protection units. Second, the wood carvings are exquisite and gorgeous, representing the pinnacle of Dongyang wood carving in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Third, the homeowners are all ham merchants. But Huangshan Bamen Hall is held in the palm of Yiwu people, with many security guards taking care of it every day, and tourists are strictly forbidden to take pictures. Shijiazhuang Flower Hall is kept in the boudoir by Dongyang people, the main door is usually closed, only a side door is slightly open, and there is no one inside and outside the house. 📍Detailed address: Shijiazhuang Village, Weishan Town, Dongyang City, Zhejiang Province Ticket price: Free

Guangzhou Street·Hong Kong Street, located on Ming and Qing West Road, Hengdian Town, Dongyang City, Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, is one of the five sub-scenic spots of Hengdian World Studios. It is also the first scenic spot built in Hengdian, consisting of Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street. A travel guide to Mount Putuo is essential

A travel guide to Mount Putuo is essential

Mount Putuo is located to the east of Hangzhou Bay, facing Shanghai and Ningbo across the sea. It is one of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism, a national key scenic spot announced by the State Council in the first batch, a AAAA national tourist area, a national civilized and sanitary mountain, the only ISO14000 national demonstration area in Zhejiang Province, and is known as the 'Buddhist Kingdom on the Sea' and the 'Holy Land of the South Sea'. Here are some of the tourist attractions of Mount Putuo: ● Pantuo Rock: Not far from the west of Meifuan in Meiling Peak of Mount Putuo, on an open mountaintop platform, there is a pair of boulders that seem to be teetering but are actually as stable as Pantuo Rock. It is said that this is the place where the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara preached. ● Thousand Step Sand: The sand is golden in color, pure and soft, wide and tenderly beautiful, like a brocade carpet laid out. Walking on it, one does not get wet or sink. ● Chaoyin Cave: Half-submerged in the sea, the entrance of Chaoyin Cave faces the ocean. It is constantly struck by the waves day and night. The tide rushes into the cave, sounding like thunder, and the interior is filled with strangely shaped rocks, stacked in layers, which are quite interesting to see. There are many more attractions in Mount Putuo, and you can choose to visit them according to your own interests and schedule.

Hengdian World Studios Time Travel Tour.

Hengdian World Studios Time Travel Tour.

I love time travel tours. I visited 5 scenic areas in 3 days. Although I was exhausted, I was touched by the carefully arranged shows. The actors' lines and basic skills were solid. All the performances were enjoyable. Many actors had real skills. They jumped directly from the second floor without wires and rolled down the steps. I admired them when I saw it live. Recommended programs: "Eight Banners Horse Battle" at the Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, "Into the Movie" at Guangzhou Street. It felt like watching a TV series. The scenic area service was also very good. It was obvious that the operation was very mature. When it rained, raincoats were immediately distributed to the audience in the front row. I arrived at the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival at 4 pm and visited for an hour. I only visited 1/3 of it. #Romance through the ages I went there again at 9 am the next day and found that each scenic area could only be visited once with the pass. The staff at the visitor center kindly helped me communicate with their superior and let me in. I wanted to see the Dream of Bianliang at 10 am, but I missed it. The customer service called me and told me that there was an extra show at 12:30 pm and told me not to miss it. The broadcast in the scenic area was not always clear. I felt the service was very attentive. I will come again if I have the chance. 💃

Hengdian World Studios Ming and Qing Palace

Hengdian World Studios Ming and Qing Palace

🌟Highlights: The Ming and Qing Palace is one of the five sub-scenic areas of Hengdian World Studios. It integrates film and television shooting, tourism, and festival ceremonies. Construction began in November 1998 and took eight years to complete, involving the demolition of 13 mountain peaks. It's a 1:1 replica of the Forbidden City in Beijing, covering an area of 1,500 mu (approximately 247 acres). It officially opened to the public on New Year's Day in 2005. ❤Recommended reasons: The Ming and Qing Palace draws inspiration from the architectural styles of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Using the unique construction methods of Hengdian World Studios, it imitates the ceremonial systems of the Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasties, while also incorporating architectural elements from the Republican era. It brings together four major architectural series, including the imperial palaces of the capital, royal gardens, princely residences and government offices, and hutong dwellings. It showcases the essence of various ancient architectural styles, such as forbidden city palaces, royal gardens, princely residences and government offices, scenic temples, and hutong dwellings, recreating the architectural landscape of Beijing across multiple historical periods. The scenic area boasts many historical sites, including Checkerboard Street, Chengtian Gate Square, the Thousand-Step Corridor, Wenwu Stage, Jinshui River, and Yudai Bridge. 📍Detailed address: Huancheng North Road, Hengdian Town, Dongyang City, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province 🕙Opening hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 📝Tips: Adult tickets are CNY 180 per person

Dongyang Woodcarving Town - a place with stories, content, and fun

Dongyang Woodcarving Town - a place with stories, content, and fun

During the May Day holiday, I chose to visit the Dongyang Woodcarving Town scenic area early in the morning. The scenic area is located right next to Liushi Street Town, about a 15-minute drive from Dongyang city center, which is quite convenient. In 2020, Dongyang Woodcarving Town was named by the Zhejiang Provincial Government as the fourth batch of provincial characteristic towns. It is an important carrier for Dongyang to rely on the advantages of the woodcarving and mahogany industry and actively develop the cultural tourism industry. The entire scenic area is scattered along the Shimaxi landscape belt, featuring a visitor center, a town reception hall, a woodcarving and bamboo weaving culture display area, a master's creative park, a woodcarving culture theme park, a camping base, and more, offering plenty of attractions and activities. In summer, you can play in the stream, in spring and autumn, you can camp and barbecue, and in winter, you can enjoy the snow scenery. The key point is that the facilities here are well-equipped, and what's more, it's free.
