After reading different reviews, I booked a room for 1 night. I was happy with all the amenities provided and decided to stay longer in a window-view room. All the provided bad reviews (at least, in my case) are wrong. Mentioned complaints about: - Breakfast - If you need ready-made food, turn left, take 2 steps (or, I assume, make even an order to the room), and 24*7 you can get all kinds of fresh and delicious food (seafood, Asian, European, etc.), or you can turn right - hello, 7/11. - Checkout - The girl I met the next day in the elevator when I was heading to the beach was checking out at 11:55 am - no problem. - Noise - in my case, 5th floor, my room is located at the back of the main door entrance - no noise. - Staff - The staff at the reception is very friendly. Laundry is not available here, but it is manageable (located just to the right, with a standard rate of 50 BHT for 1 kg) - will check later. Beach closeness - 10 mins on foot. So, I would recommend this place as 8 out of 10.

We had a lovely stay at Dara Hotel Phuket as a couple! The room was modern, clean, and beautifully designed with a cozy atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always ready to assist with anything we needed. We especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the stunning view from our balcony. The location is convenient, just a short drive to Central Phuket and other key attractions, yet quiet enough to enjoy some peace and privacy. The rooftop pool was a great spot to unwind in the evening, and breakfast had a nice variety to start the day. Overall, Dara Hotel offered great value for money and made our couple’s trip memorable. We would definitely stay here again

Very simple hotel and rooms but clean and all with a terrace. 4 middle-sized swimming pools with pleasant water temperature. Breakfast is very simple and more Asian than European but they have selection of fresh egg dishes like omelettes. The beach is nice (depending on weather it is clean or not). The service at reception is mostly very good, depending on the person. The service at the pool bar is amazing 🤩 very helpful and friendly. For us the food at the restaurant was mostly delicious, Pizza is eatable.

Friendly stuff, there are many good restaurants around in walking distance. The rooms are SUPER NOISY because it’s close to the main road and the windows are huge and not soundproof. We couldn’t rest well during our 3 nights stay.

I have stayed here probably for the 5th or 6th time. If anything, it’s location is terrific, when it comes to proximity to the airport but not so fantastic when it’s an hour’s drive to the famous Patong Beach area. What is terrific also is it’s walking distance to the tranquil Nayang Beach. Good breakfast spread with continental and Thai offerings.  Ideal for those on golfing vacation; 20 minutes drive to Blue Canyon CC and to mainland area in Phang Nga. For sure will stay here for next visits, for it feels like home away from home.

We had a great 10 day stay at Cacoon Islanda Hotel. It is very conveniently located; in easy walking distance to beach, Jungceylon shopping centre and Bangla Road. Toi, at the reception, was very speedy and efficient when checking us in and even offered us an upgrade. We had a spacious room with balcony, blackout curtains, fridge TV and well functioning ac. Bedding and towels were clean and well presented. Bathroom had shampoo and soap and plenty of hot water. The hotel is off the main road so quite quiet by most hotel standards. negative was the tatty carpets in the stairwell…. But we don’t sleep there so didn’t affect us. We had a pleasant stay in Cacoon hotel; great value for money with helpful staff.

The room is clean, the service staff is good, but the room is not soundproof. The room above closes the door very loudly. And there is a battle sound from other rooms. It makes me not impressed with this place at all.

Bb.travelGreat location with nearby options for food, massage, and dining. There’s also transport available to the beach—just be sure to check the schedule. The room may feel a bit dark to some due to its themed decor and color scheme. Also, if you leave the balcony door open, you might encounter mosquitoes, which is common for most hotels during this season. Head to the nearby 7-Eleven to purchase a liquid electric repellent—it’s effective, especially since the hotel doesn’t provide one.

SSamuel HandWe had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Our daughter loved the pool and loved playing in the 'Kids World'. The facilities are excellent, for example there is a good-sized gym with plenty of equipment, and a restaurant with lots of choice. The breakfast is delicious. I would strongly recommend this hotel. It is also only a short walk away from the beach. In the interest of balance, I would just like to mention a few things that could be improved upon. 1. The room did not look like the advertisement photos on the booking website. The staff were very helpful and added some things to make it a closer resemblance. However, the photo of the one bedroom family suite shows lots of toys and extra items in the room that are in fact not included. There is a bunk bed and a kids tent. 2. The local area is quite expensive. Due to there being no 7 eleven nearby and the northern part of Kamala being quite relaxed, the prices of things in the local shops are pretty high. I would advise to get a ride to the nearest 7 eleven as soon as you arrive and stock up on supplies! These 2 things are small in comparison to the great things this hotel has to offer. We had an amazing time. We want to thank the staff for a lovely holiday!

GGuest UserThis trip I have reserved one room with 3 beds for my family and hotel upgraded us to a suite room with 2 Big beds with a living room which was a surprise to us . Room size no doubt is spacious enough, room to breakfast area is within 1 min walking distance😙 Breakfast area is spacious , food have varieties to choose from. Hotels have 3 pools for you to enjoy. Bowling is also available which provides more fun during your stay. Staffs are efficient , there was an incident about the air condition in room when we came back from dinner, they quickly asked the engineering staff to come to fix it right away. We appreciated of their response and assistance 👍🏼👍🏼

IIvan KraljEven if it ended with a nice gesture, the receptionist handing me a keychain gift (not sure if they do that with all guests), with a written request to leave 10/10 review, sadly I couldn't ignore the shortcomings of this hostel that seemed like just a downgraded version of Marco Polo Poshtel (not sure which one came first, but from breakfast to ”funny” wall messages, there was a similar ”creative” signature). While I was initially attracted by reviews mentioning hostel's cleanliness, I couldn't say I shared the same opinion. Certain public areas were quite messy. The staircase to the first floor (where shoes are forbidden) didnt seem to be cleaned for some time. In the showers (which had a good water pressure), there was mold. None of the three handsoap dispensers in the only bathroom had soap in them. It just felt the staff doesnt have time or organizational skills to maintain everything in working order. But I was mostly surprised by finding a not clean (i dont want to call it ”used”) bed cover in my bed. It had some fresh stains, hair and crumbles (well, not just on bed cover), and seemed just to be folded after the guest before me (even the folding seemed messed up, so i really thought maybe the bed was forgotten). When I asked the housekeeping to change it, they initially approved. The younger housekeeper started changing everything, sheet included (which i believe is a good way to do it, when it is not certain if the bed was completely changed), but when the older one returned, she made her put the sheet back (the sheet that was thrown on the floor in the meantime), laughing all along. No, that wasnt really funny. Then instead of letting the young housekeeper put on the new bed cover she brought along, i noticed that the older one brought something that seemed to be the same old bed cover that i complained about (the duvet was already inside). When i asked if that is a new thing, she was convincing me it was. Already at that moment, i felt ridiculed. But i said, ”okay, if you say so.” After all was done, i came back to my bed, unfolded the bed cover and confirmed my doubt - all this performance of changing the bed, without them changing anything! The only difference was that the bedsheet was also on the floor in the meantime. This got me really frustrated, mostly because they lied to my face (what for?), and mostly because they invested energy in ”changing” everything while actually just stripping everything off and returning it (why? It takes the same amount of energy to do it for real). Feeling like an *****, i asked what seemed to be the problem? Dont they have clean bedding, or what? But they had. I asked them to give it to me then, and i would happily prepare the bed myself. Which they accepted. Lol. I dont know, with that poor breakfast, the visual mess, unpleasant ”toilet” scent at hostel entrance, and generally low level of cleanliness (you can see how yellow the pillow is once you remove the pillow case yourself), it felt that other reviews mentioning spotless hygiene were misleading. Or were my standards too high? In any case, i stayed in a dozen of Phuket hostels during my month here, but none of them tried to insult my intelligence. There are better places, and no, Dorm Hostel sadly doesnt deserve 10/10, to quote the request they tell everyone at check-out. I also tried to leave them space for hostel improvement, so instead of lowest marks, i left average ones, even if the experience was truly below average. P.S. When a guest asks whether a ferry with a pick-up operates everywhere in Phuket, a genuinely helpful answer would be ”yes”. And not ”no, it's only our hostel's pickup”. I understand everyone just tries to earn money, but it shouldn't be done by misleading guests who just trustfully ask for information.

GGuest UserRoom is ok and breakfast is nice with wide variety, but my partner reported that there are many fruit flies at the fruit area. Hotel location is walking distance to Bangla Road (if you are not lazy with a bit of walking), otherwise need to pay 200 baht for Tuktuk to Bangla Road.

OOdayEverything was perfect, from the service, reception, breakfast, public and private pools and the general cleanliness of the resort, I would like to thank the reception staff sol, assary and farouk, as for the bad things in the resort is that the daily cleaning of the room was not good, but when we told them at the reception, they sent room cleaning at night, it was a nice gesture from them

FFahriyahWe got a free upgrade!! Super nice view with balcony. The beautiful beautiful beach view. The location was perfect. Not too busy and noisy. Big 7-11 store nearby the hotel. Park your bike opposite the hotel. It's safe! We parked there for a week. Staff was super nice and friendly. The room has an old smell but it's clean. We brought our room spray. So it's all good. The bed was nice and room was super cosy. We definitely will come again to this hotel..!

GGoldenpiggiesThe view from the room was truly lovely. It was wonderful to have privacy, as both the room and the bathroom faced the sea—this was an important factor in choosing this hotel. The sea view was definitely the highlight of the experience. It was visible from almost everywhere in the hotel, and the teppanyaki restaurant, Gin, was exceptional. The chef was friendly, personable, and professional. The food was of good quality, and one of the older, elegant Thai-Chinese ladies providing service stood out, especially since the other staff members were less pleasant during our dining experience. We left feedback with their names in their internal feedback. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the quality of the room and the air conditioning, which was a significant letdown, as well as the variety and overall spread of the breakfast.

GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in March 2025. First of all: if you have flexible travel dates, avoid Phuket in March — prices were absolutely insane. We paid €1,200 for two rooms, while the same rooms are available for only €530 at the end of June. Despite the high prices, I still enjoyed my stay at Aurico. The hotel is located in Kata, which is considered one of the quieter and more relaxed areas of the island. Compared to the chaos of Patong, that might be true, but ”quiet and relaxed” is not really how I would describe it. The traffic was crazy, nightlife was everywhere, it was very crowded, and the worst part: as soon as you left the hotel, there was a strong and unpleasant smell of sewage, garbage, and fecal matter. The hotel itself is situated in a small alley, well away from the street noise. Nearby, you’ll find many restaurants, shops, barbers, massage parlors, and bars. Many of the vendors actively try to attract customers. Due to the unpleasant smell, we didn’t try any of the local restaurants. Several 7-Elevens are within a 5-minute walk. The main road is also close, making it easy to catch a bus to nearby villages, beaches, and Phuket Town. The night market and bar street are about 10 minutes away on foot. Both Kata and Karon Beach can be reached within 10 minutes’ walk as well. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to Kata Beach twice a day. The hotel opened in 2019, so it’s still relatively new. Unfortunately, the furniture already shows noticeable signs of wear, and the linens, curtains, and towels should definitely be replaced. Nevertheless, the room was spacious, clean enough, and the bed was comfortable. I also liked the private balcony. The pool area is great. The pool itself is quite large, especially since some rooms have direct pool access. There’s also a whirlpool and a pool bar. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious, with a daily changing selection. Thanks to many Chinese guests, there were tasty Chinese breakfast classics like steamed dumplings and fresh noodle soup. Additionally, there was bread and cold cuts, an egg station, pancakes, and every day some hot dishes which, in my opinion, didn’t really belong on a breakfast buffet (such as heavy meat dishes and pasta), but were still tasty. The à la carte dinner may have contributed to some of these unusual breakfast items being served as leftovers. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly. Check-in time was quite late (after 2 PM). Most of the other guests were from Russia and China, which was interesting. I won’t comment on why many German tourists seem to prefer staying in Patong — in my opinion, a complete shithole. Fortunately, all guests at Aurico were polite and well-behaved. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Aurico and in Kata, but overall I wasn’t very impressed by Phuket itself. It’s dirty, overcrowded, and overpriced. While Phuket is often called a tropical paradise, and the nature and weather are indeed tropical, it’s hard to fully enjoy the beauty. Too many disrespectful tourists who mistreat the locals, dirty beaches, and polluted seawater. I probably won’t return to Phuket. In the end, I was very glad not to have stayed in Patong, where the seawater turns brown from sewage being discharged into the ocean. Two recommendations: Surin Beach and Phuket Old Town.
