Short-distance car rental to places around Bishkek for about an hour, costs less than 900 RMB a day, a 7-seater car, which is about 150 RMB per person. Manas International Airport may be small, but it’s easy to navigate, making the arrival process smooth and hassle-free. After stepping off the plane, passport control and baggage claim are fairly straightforward, and soon we’re out in the arrivals hall, ready to start our adventure. Taxi drivers eagerly offer their services, sometimes a bit persistent, but nothing a polite “no thanks” can’t handle. For those needing to stay connected, several small shops inside the terminal sell local SIM cards at unbeatable prices; less than €3 for a week with unlimited data and 100 minutes local calls, a great deal for travellers! There’s also a money exchange counter, though the rates aren’t the best, so it’s worth exchanging only a small amount for immediate expenses. A small convenience store offers snacks and drinks, perfect for grabbing a quick bite before heading into the city. Instead of taking a taxi, we hop on Bus 153, a budget-friendly option at just €1.60, which takes us straight to Bishkek’s city center. If you crave a back-to-nature hiking trip Ala-Acha National Nature Park, located near Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, is definitely your choice. There are purely original hiking routes here, and you can even hike to the glacier. Starting from the city, take a taxi and locate "Ala Archa Hotel", which is the starting point of the hike. The round-trip taxi fare is about 1,500, and the driver will wait for two hours. The ticket is 700som per car, and after checking in, you need to drive for 15 minutes to reach the real entrance. As soon as you get off the car, the wind blowing from the snow-capped mountains will hit your face. It is hard to imagine that such a cool summer resort is hidden only an hour's drive from the city. There are no road signs on the hiking route and no supply stores. From the moment you take a taxi to the hiking entrance, you all rely on your own sense of direction. Among the three routes, we chose the route along the river on the right. Although due to time constraints, we were not able to reach the lake at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters at the end, the scenery we saw after hiking for more than an hour was beautiful enough. Ala-Archa National Park is about 50 minutes away by car from Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Here, you can see wild animals living here relatively easily, and especially the friendly squirrels and marmots, so if you bring sunflower seeds or nuts, you can take selfies!
