Cappadocia is absolutely stunning 🎈 The night before, I was worried the weather wouldn’t be good enough to fly, but at dawn the next day, seeing the sky filled with hot air balloons slowly rising made me feel like my life was complete ✨ 📍Goreme Town This is the main base for hot air balloon experiences. It’s recommended to stay at least two nights to increase your chances of flying. We chose Butterfly Balloons company, and their 5 AM pick-up service was very punctual. Once airborne, you can see the entire surreal landscape of Cappadocia. The pilot thoughtfully rotates the basket to ensure everyone can capture the beautiful scenery. 📍Uchisar Castle After landing the hot air balloon, you can visit this high vantage point. Not only can you overlook all of Goreme, but you can also see the full view of Rose Valley. The castle itself is a cave fortress carved into the rock, perfect for taking Instagram-worthy photos. 📍Devrent Valley Also known as Camel Valley, the rock formations here are incredibly unique! At sunset, the light is very gentle, and the rock pillars turn pink. Many couples choose this spot for proposals. 💡Useful Tips: 1. Book the hot air balloon at least 3 days in advance! We almost missed out. 2. It’s very cold at dawn, so bring a thick jacket but don’t dress too bulky. 3. The first flight at sunrise is the most beautiful, but the second flight is about 1/3 cheaper. 4. There is a champagne celebration after landing, so remember to keep some cash for tips. 🏨 Accommodation Recommendation: The Museum Hotel is absolutely amazing! The cave pool faces the hot air balloon launch site. While having breakfast on the terrace, hundreds of hot air balloons floated right overhead—this experience is truly unforgettable. 🍴 Must-Try Food: You must try the pot-cooked beef! The stew at Topdeck Cave Restaurant is incredible. Remember to reserve a window seat in advance.

#AprilGoodDestinations2025 Before traveling to Türkiye, we were racking our brains over what hotel to stay in Cappadocia, and finally we chose DoubleTree by Hilton Avanos. The most famous thing about the Cappadocia area is the caves. Whether it is a museum, a restaurant or a hotel, they all have views of the caves. I prefer modern hotels, but the cave hotels do not give me a good sense of security. DoubleTree by Hilton Avanos is the fourth Hilton hotel we stayed in during our trip to Turkey. In addition to the comfortable and clean environment, it also has my favorite swimming pool. Although it is not as convenient as the previous hotels in the city center, the scenery next to the hotel is really refreshing. Also, the hotel is close to the hot air balloon flight site tomorrow, so you have to go to bed early at night because you have to get up at around 3 a.m. to prepare for the hot air balloon flight.

From the itinerary, I saw that in addition to dinner, we can also enjoy local Turkish dance performances, the most anticipated of which is the whirling. This is a must-try pottery jar dish in Cappadocia, called Pottery Kebabi, and its Turkish name is Testi Kebabi. We have only seen this dish in Cappadocia, not in other cities. This dish looks very local, but it is actually tomato and vegetable stewed with meat cubes, usually chicken or beef. The method is to put the fresh ingredients into this clay pot, and then put the whole pot into the oven. This method can seal the original flavor of the food in the pot. Avanos is a small town in central Turkey. It is definitely not a touristy place but is very close to the open sights of Cappadocia - the most beautiful place in the region. Anyway it is a nice option for a quick stopover but you will need a car. #happynewyear

There aren't many places to visit in Avanos, the pottery town. Because of the scorching sun, we decided to browse the shops next to the hot air balloon murals. We didn't have high expectations, but ended up spending the most interesting two hours there. The shop doesn't look particularly impressive from the outside, just a small door. But inside, it's like a ceramic palace, with three or four floors. Tableware, wine vessels, candlesticks—all kinds of uses, pure gold, glow-in-the-dark types—the ceramics on display are countless, a dazzling array. We were greeted by the owner's son, who said it was their family business. There was no hard selling; he enthusiastically introduced almost all the handicrafts to us. Afterwards, we were allowed to freely browse, take photos, and rest. When we paid, we not only received a discount but also received some unique blessing decorations. We could even try pottery making for free—it was so much fun! They even provided bottled water and stored our bags while we took photos outside the shop. I highly recommend that everyone visit the pottery town if you have enough time. Besides taking photos, you should also visit this shop next door. Whether you want to kill time or buy souvenirs, the experience is excellent.

In Cappadocia, many people recommend the pottery town of Avanos, but few mention its night view. I bought a lot of pottery and was rushing to catch the last bus back. Looking up at the evening sky, it was absolutely breathtaking!!! The blue-pink gradient sky, illuminated by strings of tiny nightlights, added a romantic touch to the entire town.
