Banbar Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Sapushen Mountain Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
A sacred mountain in Tibet offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains and glaciers in winter
Location: Mount Sapu
💰Average cost:
The ticket price is 150 yuan per person, half price for students (available on Xue Xin Wang), and you need to bring your ID.
👍Most recommended:
It is recommended to stay in Yangxiu Township. There is a hotel with a good environment in the township government, about forty minutes away from Mount Sapu.
If you choose to stay in the scenic area, after buying the ticket and entering, go straight to the bus stop. The bus runs every half an hour. It takes about ten minutes to get to the outer lake by bus. There are two guesthouses at the drop-off point, which are dormitory-style, and the beds are relatively small, 100 yuan per person.
If you choose to camp, the outer lake is a good choice. The internet-famous bridge is also near the drop-off point of the outer lake. Secondly, don't bring food with a strong smell, it will attract bears.
🌟Highlights:
The inner lake is more spectacular, the scenery is much better than the outer lake, there are also two guesthouses, you can see more snow-capped mountains, black soil and blue lake water, giving you the illusion of being in the North and South Poles.
🗓Itinerary:
The internet-famous bridge is about a hundred meters to the left of the drop-off point, but the slope is very steep, it is recommended to walk a few more steps forward to bypass it. Secondly, the shooting angle of the internet-famous bridge is limited, it is more recommended to find an angle on the iron bridge above the internet-famous bridge.
From this direction, continue to walk up the mountain to the inner lake, about five kilometers of mountain road, the altitude is nearly five thousand meters, people with good physical strength can try hiking.
If you don't want to hike, there will also be local villagers at the drop-off point of the outer lake who will drive you into the inner lake for a fee of 100 yuan per person, free for the elderly, and you can bargain. It's about a twelve-minute journey, round trip.
After they take you to the inner lake, they will wait for you at the original place (if you don't go far). Walk straight into the inner lake, cross the bridge, and there is a ridge ahead. It's a great place for photos, but there are few glaciers.
📝Tips:
If you want to see the glaciers alone, it is not recommended to go in. Because there are many dogs and bears inside, be careful not to get close.
After 5 months, this place has reopened
Land of Idyllic Beauty, Mount Sapo
It is the highest peak on the eastern side of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, a sacred mountain in the snowy region filled with many legends, a rarely visited paradise on earth
It is also the sacred mountain that believers aspire to pilgrimage to throughout their lives. The so-called paradise is nothing but this
Elevation: Lake surface elevation: 5000, Mount Sapo elevation: 6956
Ticket: 150
Location: Inside Puzong Gully, Yangxiu Township, Biru County, Naqu City, Tibet, about 900 kilometers from Lhasa
Travel: There is no public transportation, it takes about 10 hours to drive from Lhasa
Accommodation: It is recommended to stay in Biru County, there are homestays about 3 kilometers from Mount Sapo, but the conditions are relatively poor, wooden cabins.
❤Recommended Reasons:
1 Flower Meadows
In summer, the blooming flowers and meadows fill the valleys, as if putting a floral long dress on the snowy mountains, most touching
2 Pyramid Shape of the Sacred Mountain
Mount Sapo has stood here for millions of years, its perfect pyramid peak shape is eye-catching! It is enough to shock every pilgrim, at the foot of the sacred mountain, all things have spirits
3 Continuous Glaciers
Walking into it, you enter a dreamy Antarctica! The majestic glaciers, like dragon scales, emit a piercing cold light, not the polar regions but as impressive as them
4 Azure Sacred Lake
The lake under the snowy mountain is emerald green like jade, the water appears to have a viscous feeling, like a sea of milk, especially peculiar
5 Sunlight on the Golden Mountain
A myriad of golden rays descend from the sky onto the summit of the snowy mountain, nature stages a golden visual feast, extremely spectacular! This generally only happens on clear days at sunrise or sunset
6 Vast Starry Sky
While you are still crazily working overtime in front of the computer late at night, two thousand kilometers away in Tibet, the Milky Way arch bridge spans the earth, emitting a brilliant light
7 Winter Blue Ice
Seeing the blue ice that rivals the Arctic Circle, with its radiant blue light, as if the color of the sky, is the most sacred
8 Enjoy Freedom
It is too pure, hidden away for many years unknown! Walking into it, you enter the greatest wilderness on Earth
Mount Sapo is truly breathtakingly beautiful
🏔Mount Sapo
Located in Yangxiu Township, Biru County, Naqu City, Tibet
🌄 Elevation: 4800 meters
■Best viewing season: May to September
1️⃣Day1: Lhasa to Biru to Yangxiu Township by car takes 10 hours. Depart in the morning, passing through Damxung with a stop at the Nyenchen Tanglha Viewpoint for photos; lunch in Naqu City, and in the afternoon, pass through Biru with an optional visit to the Skull Wall Scenic Area, which is not highly recommended due to its cost-effectiveness. Arrive in the well-known Cordyceps county, Biru County, around six or seven in the evening, have dinner, and then continue on. The upcoming road will be winding and possibly driven at night during the ascent, so safety is paramount. Around eleven o'clock, when passing through the Shalashan Pass (elevation 5700), you'll be lucky to see the visible Milky Way and even capture a life photo with your phone (long exposure 10s/30s). After another hour's drive, you'll reach the accommodation for the night.
The first day's journey is longer to catch the sunrise on Mount Sapo the next morning, so it will be relatively tough.
-
2️⃣Day2: Yangxiu Township - Sapo Scenic Area - Outer Lake - Inner Lake - Return to stay at Outer Lake
The drive takes 1.5 hours
Ticket price is currently unknown due to new regulations
The highlight is next!
Mount Sapo is divided into Outer Lake and Inner Lake. It is recommended to view the sunrise on the mountain from Outer Lake for a more comprehensive and intuitive experience. It takes about 2 hours to walk from Outer Lake to Inner Lake, with lush aquatic plants and wildflowers along the lake shore, and the feeling of gradually approaching the snow mountain is incredibly awesome! At Inner Lake, you can see glaciers and meadows up close, and you can also continue to climb up the hillside to the temple (not recommended for those with average physical strength, as it is difficult and far).
In the evening, you can return to Outer Lake to take photos of the sunset and the famous bridge.
Accommodation can be chosen at Outer Lake, which is convenient for night photography of the stars.
3️⃣Day3: Sapo to Lhasa
On the third day, you can also choose to get up early to see the sunrise on the mountain, but due to weather conditions, we only saw the great scenery on the second day.
⚠️Precautions:
■The scenery of Mount Sapo is very dependent on the weather, so try to choose your travel dates based on the weather forecast;
. The 3-day, 2-night itinerary is for reference only and can be extended to include other routes in Tibet;
■Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility

Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
A day-long ice cave exploration + glacier trekking, truly unfiltered! I heard that the Kongga Ice Cave is the largest ice cave discovered in Tibet to date
I thought I would see magnificent blue ice, but in reality, the light inside the ice cave is quite dim, making it look greyish. Despite this, the landscape inside the ice cave still arouses a sense of freshness and curiosity.
The inner walls of the Kongga Ice Cave are like fish scales, as if they've been scraped by an ice cream scoop. On the horizontal plane, the layered patterns are clearly visible. If you look closely, you'll find objects encapsulated within the ice, adding to the mystery of the ice cave. It's like a giant time machine, capturing every moment and allowing us to glimpse into that distant and mysterious world.
The blue ice of the Xianggelila Glacier attracts many visitors. Glacier trekking is a great experience, tiring yet joyful!
Walking on the ice, you can see white ice bubbles within the ice layers. The ice blocks in front of the mountain are like a huge sapphire embedded in the snow. When you cross over hills and slopes, you'll find ice caves that haven't fully solidified. You can even walk up to the massive ice walls and admire the natural wonders.
📍Location: Puyu Village, Bianba County, Changdu City, Tibet
💰Cost: No entrance fee, motorcycle 200 yuan/person, local guide 200 yuan
🚗How to get there: Self-drive/join a tour group
⏳Recommended duration of visit: 1 day
【Recommended ways to play】
1️⃣ Morning: Take a motorcycle to the vicinity of Kongga Ice Cave - Trek to the ice cave - Visit and take photos in the ice cave - Return by motorcycle
2️⃣ Afternoon: Xianggelila Glacier trekking
【Tips】
🌟Kongga Ice Cave is quite far away, it is recommended to take a motorcycle, the road is bumpy, remember to hold on tight
🌟It is advised to wear a safety helmet when visiting the ice cave to prevent ice from falling
🌟The Kongga Ice Cave is not very long, but there are many ice blocks on the ground, the path is difficult, and the light is dim
🌟For glacier trekking, it is recommended to hire a guide to avoid getting lost, safety first
🌟For glacier trekking, remember to bring ice claws, do not walk on thin ice, safety first
🌟Try to return before dark, safety first
🌟For accommodation, it is recommended to choose in Bianba County, where conditions are better
2024 Tibet North Ring Line: See blue ice and explore ice caves
Shangri-La Glacier is located in the eastern section of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, with an altitude of 4240 meters, a length of 9 kilometers, and a width of 1 kilometer.
It takes 1.5 hours from Bianba County to the glacier. After getting off the car, walk along the frozen lake to several blue ice walls at the end of the ice tongue, there are multiple blue ice surfaces!
The lake surface is wet and slippery, it's best to wear ice claws!
After viewing the glacier and ice lake, return to the teahouse in Puyi Village One, wait for the motorcycles to go to Gongga Ice Cave, quickly drive through the fields, cross the iron bridge, pass through a bush along the edge of the pasture, enter the dried-up stone beach, arrive at the parking spot in 20 minutes, walk through tens of meters of stone road, reach the small entrance of the ice cave (or climb over two gentle slopes to reach the big entrance of the ice cave), walk about ten meters to see the blue entrance, beautiful!
Gongga Ice Cave is at the other end of Shangri-La Glacier, about 165 meters long and about 15 meters high.
The round-trip cost of the motorcycle is 200 yuan, to be paid after return. If you walk there, it's more than 3 kilometers one way, basically a flat stone road, not difficult to walk.

The small county town by the Nujiang River, with a vast territory, the snow mountain scenery is unforgettable
Tibet has always been called a mystery by people, because there are many places where few people set foot hidden on that vast plateau, because of the sparse population, they have preserved their most natural appearance.
Biru County in Nagqu is hidden in the valley of the upper reaches of the Nujiang River, built along the river, with steep mountain scenery on both sides. There are too many worth visiting spots in this county town, the most famous of which is of course the skull wall of Damu Temple in the western suburbs. This is the living fossil of the local 'sky burial' culture, with skulls piled into walls, to be honest, it was a bit creepy when I first went.
Sapu Mountain is located in Biru. This sacred mountain was discovered by donkey friends a few years ago, which attracted many tourists to explore. I especially like the lake water and meadows under the Sapu snow mountain, which gives people a feeling of paradise. It is said that there are primitive forests in the southeast of Biru County, but this trip was too hurried to go. Every visit to Nagqu is a new exploration in life, and I believe the next encounter will bring me more surprises.
The wall of Dam Temple is a wall made of human skulls. It is related to the celestial burial. There are very few people coming here. Some people are afraid of going to a lot of panic in the heart. A small temple is seen outside. Going up is very ordinary, there is no sense of story. The master of
Dum Temple opened the door for us. Usually there are very few people coming here, so the general door is closed. Only when there are people coming, the master will come over and open the door. The pedestrian is the one to go here. Simon's.
Open the door lock. In the small courtyard, the entire wall on the right hand side is covered with enamel, and the five-color prayer flags and some classics representing "the sky, the ground, the water, the fire, the wind" are hung directly opposite the wall. cloth.
Every foot here should be careful, can't go away, although the slate is not big, it shines brightly, although it can't see the traces of the knife and axe, but here is the last chopping board of the corpse during the burial, so it is best It is to get around here, don't step on it.
The large and small gimmicks on the wall, most of the lower skull are gone, the fragile nasal bones are eroded, leaving only the hard skull and sporadic teeth.
Going out of the wall, rows of cockroaches still appear in front of me, silent for a long time, in fact, these have not made me afraid, life, the grass and the autumn, we will come to this world, will eventually return to the silence, Where do you come from, where to go...
