Camotes Islands! How far have you been in the Philippines?
There are over 7,000 small islands in the Philippines.
I often visit the Philippines, but I always think, "Will I be able to visit 100 islands before I die?"
As a diving enthusiast, I'm so curious about the underwater world.
I decided to go on a ten-day trip to Cebu, so I took a ferry. I was carrying my gear, but a typhoon hit.
I heard about Camotes from Cebu, and I immediately started preparing for my trip.
There are three ways to get to Camotes from Cebu:
1. Danao Port -> Consuelo Port
I took this route.
From Cebu, I took a car to Danao Port (40 minutes to an hour).
The boat ride was two hours.
Fare: 300 pesos (additional 50 pesos for air-conditioned seats). It seems like a first-come, first-served system. I failed to get in.
There are 4-5 departures per day. We bought food at Jollibee in front of the port around 4:00 PM to catch the first ferry at 5:30 PM. We boarded at 5:30 PM and departed around 6:00 PM.
The boat moved very slowly.
The sun rose, and the red, beautiful sun was breathtaking.
There's a 5-peso port entrance fee per person.
We arrived at Camotes Island at 8:00 AM.
We used the Korean shop #Godive Scuba Diving Shop.
We also asked them to provide lodging, so they guided us to our resort.
Camotes Island itself is different from Mactan, Cebu.
It's so quiet. It's an island for locals.
The streets are so clean and beautiful.
It's a real healing experience.
From here, the shop picked us up. ~~~
There aren't many tuk-tuks, so it seems most people rent motorbikes to get around.
We took the shop's vehicle, so I'm not sure about the details. ^-^;;
The accommodations were also affordable. It was very well-decorated and clean.
There were so many people I remembered.
I thought of friends I wanted to spend time with.
Next time, I'll definitely stay longer.
This time, I only had a quick one-night getaway, but I also visited various islands for diving.
Among them, Tulang Island was absolutely stunning.
It was a two-day, one-night getaway, so I managed to scuba dive six times.
Next time, I want to explore the entire island and explore every nook and cranny. ♡
