2025 Canal de Navarres Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

The natural pools of the canyon of Río Grande, near the little town of Quesa is a great spot for a family-friendly hike 🥾 Also known as “Charcos de Quesa” this natural paradise is just 1 hour drive south from the city of Valencia and despite its convenient location it is still under the radar, so not too crowded. To reach there, though, you will need to drive your own car, because pubic transportation don’t reach there 🚌 The trip may not be the easiest one, along a winding road, but it’s Tuesday worth the while. Once you reach the parking area, get ready for a hike with plenty of options for beginners and experts alike. One of my favorites is the hike until “Charco del Chorro” a pool with a beautiful waterfall; and if you continue for a few more kilometers upstream you can reach to a prehistoric paintings known as “Abrigo del Voro” a series of figures depicting a hunting scene. #gohiking

The little town of 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮, 1 hour-drive away from 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮, has a well-kept secret of stunning beauty. A palace that boasts achitecture style from the ☪️ Arabic times all the way to the Barroc aesthetics, the 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹ó𝗻 👫We went to visit it as part of a guided tour, as it is necessary to book in advance, the visit is in Spanish language and the guide explained the history of this monument linked with the history of the town of 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮. We learned that even if it was originally a Muslim castle back in the 13𝘵𝘩 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘺, it would not be until 400 years later, in the 17𝘵𝘩 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘺 when the building would be renovated and used for residential purpose, and actually the building was open to public very recently, when the works of renovation were finalized in the year 2007 Due to its original arabic-style architecture in the patio and main hall, this building has received the nickname of "𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙖" in reference to the palace in the city of 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮, south of 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻. And it is clear the reason why: decorative elements, 💦 the fountain in the patio, the colorful ceiling in the private room and the arabic calligraphy on the top of the walls make obvious reference to the arabic heritage of when 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 was under muslim rule. #summervacay Okay, if you’re into waterfalls and super chill hikes, Ruta de las 3 Cascadas near Anna in Valencia is calling your name. It’s literally a short trail that links three dreamy cascades, each with its own vibe. You start out thinking “oh this is cute,” and by the third waterfall, you’re fully living your main character moment. The path is easy enough for casual walkers (yes, even in sneakers), and it loops through some super green, peaceful nature. Expect birds chirping, water flowing, and the occasional lizard sunbathing. You’ll hit Gorgo Gaspar, Gorgo de la Escalera (which has epic stairs carved into the rock!), and Gorgo Catalán. Bring your swimsuit because the water is totally swimmable, freezing, but worth it. Perfect for a half-day adventure that feels way more magical than effortful. Pack snacks, water, and maybe a towel. It's nature's version of a spa day, minus the pricey bill. Total serotonin boost. Don’t skip this one!

#summervacay Anna town in Valencia? Total hidden gem alert. It's one of those places that doesn’t scream for attention but totally wins you over with charm. Super walkable, super chill, and full of little surprises around every corner. Cobblestone streets? Check. Cute little plazas? Yep. Friendly locals who’ll smile and say “hola”? Absolutely. There’s a laid-back, lived-in vibe here that makes you feel like you’re stepping into someone’s cozy hometown. The Palacio de los Condes de Cervellón is worth popping into, it’s got that classic old-school elegance and some cool museum stuff. Oh, and there are fountains and mini canals all over the place, which just adds to the relaxing vibe. You can totally just wander with no plan, grab a coffee at a local café, and soak it all in. No pressure, no crowds, just peaceful little-town energy. Perfect for a slow morning or an afternoon break from the big touristy stuff. Anna might be small, but it’s seriously cute.
