The peonies are elegant and luxurious, and they should be in full bloom from early to mid-April. Figures 7-9: Changzhi Zhangzehu National Urban Wetland Park. This park is huge, and the cherry blossoms are at their peak in mid-April. Their beauty is breathtaking! Figures 10-12: Taiyuan Botanical Garden. The renovated Shangdang Gate and bell and drum tower were described as "simple yet solid, majestic and strong." Shangdang Gate is located on a high mound at the north end of Fupo Street. Ascend the steps, pass through the gate, and you'll find yourself in a commanding position, standing tall and independent. I arrived quite late, so I just walked around inside and out, checking it off my list. The gatehouse of Shangdang Gate features a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof structure. There's a building on each side of the main gate: a bell tower on the left and a drum tower on the right.
