If you’re visiting Melbourne, don’t miss a day trip to Yarra Valley — it’s only about an hour’s drive from the city, but it feels like a whole different world! We did this as part of our Melbourne trip in March 2025, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our journey. Here’s a glimpse into our Yarra Valley day itinerary: 📍1. An autumn trip to Melbourne. Went on the Werribee Open Range Zoo Slumber Safari. What an experience. Going behind the scenes and staying the night to experience the zoo in the still of the night and waking up to the sounds or lions roaring and elephants trumpeting. Birds flying across the sunrise. Experiencing the autumn foliage and change of temperature was a joy. Visiting the winery was an amazing day out and free in house wine tasting as well
