Alaska | The joy of photography during travel
🦅Alaska's golden hour light lasts most of the day, the mountains look even more epic, and the aurora borealis comes out to play almost every evening.
⛰️The Alaska Range is located on the Richardson Highway between Delta Junction and Paxson. This highway will take you through some of the most inspiring mountain ranges in the United States. Donnelly dome and Castner Glacier make for great day hikes on this section of the trail.
🚗The pass into Valdez is one of the most gorgeous Alpine passes. While in the area, be sure to visit Valdez Glacial Lake and Fish Hatchery, where you'll likely see bears, sea otters, and sea lions.
🐟Chitina, McCarthy Road and Kennecott Copper Mines. Head east from Glennallen, past massive volcanoes and pristine tundra lakes, into Wrangell Saint Elias National Park. McCarthy Road is gorgeous from beginning to end.
✨Watch the Aurora Borealis. Depending on the level of solar activity, you can view the Aurora Borealis from anywhere in Alaska. Download the app called Aurora and look for solar activity in more southern parts of the state to view the auroras. If you go in the winter, I highly recommend taking the Dalton Highway to the Brooks Range.
🚞Hatcher Pass, just an hour north of Anchorage, this location allows for easy access to the mountains. This beautiful area is one of the best places to photograph the Aurora Borealis near anchorage.

Witnessing the Northern Lights in Alaska
Witnessing the Northern Lights in Alaska is one of the most magical and awe-inspiring experiences in the world. The best time to see the Northern Lights is during the winter months from September to April, as the skies are clearest and longest.
Watching the Northern Lights in Alaska is an unforgettable experience. The lights dance beautifully over the icy fields and pine forests. For those traveling here, don't miss visiting Castner Glacier, a uniquely beautiful glacier. The walking path through the ice cave reflects light magnificently, making it feel like a fairy tale world. It's another highlight that nature-loving travelers shouldn't miss, offering a chance to experience the cold and breathtaking atmosphere of Alaska from every angle.

Alaska Pipeline.
The main line of the pipeline starts from Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope and ends at Valdez in the Gulf of Alaska, with a total length of nearly 800 miles (about 1,300 kilometers) from north to south, passing through many cities such as Wiseman, Bettles, Livengood, Fox, Fairbanks, and Allen Valley. The construction of the pipeline also faces the challenges of remote location and harsh surrounding environment: it has to cross three mountain ranges, active faults, vast permafrost, and regularly migrating reindeer and moose.
Since its completion in 1977, the pipeline has transported 15 billion barrels of crude oil (2.4 km3).
