Siem Reap Angkor International Airport first opened in 2023, following the closure of the previous Siem Reap International Airport. The airport's facilities and buildings are new, modern, and clean, making it comfortable to spend time waiting for your flight. The airport is located approximately 45 km from the city. You can take the public bus to get to the city, which costs $9 per person. Alternatively, you can rent a private car if the bus is not scheduled to depart when you arrive. I paid $13 for the car for two people, and the driver was kind and very helpful.

The only lounge at Siem Reap International Airport, its name is C IP Lounge (Angkor Lounge). Located between gates 1 and 3, you can see it immediately after passing through immigration and turning right at the large object. The lounge is on the right hand side, and there is a toilet right in front of it, making it a convenient location. Next to the "CIP Lounge" sign, there is a cute Angkor Lounge sign. How to enter and convenient usage I entered using a free lounge use ticket from Trip.com. If you have a Priority Pass, this Angkor Lounge is also included, so please use it! Priority Pass This is a pass that allows you to enter more than 1,300 airport lounges around the world. Depending on the departure gate, the lounge may be a little far away, so it is recommended that you use it with plenty of time. Comfortable space in the lounge As you can see from the photo, the lounge has a calm atmosphere. The wide sofas are comfortable to sit on and you can relax. Arrived at Siem Reap Airport. According to the Japanese guidebook information (2024 edition), the process to apply for a visa at the airport was to fill out a paper and pay $30, but that was wrong. After arriving, I went to the arrival area and there were rows of desks with tablets, and there was no paper to fill out. It was electronic. It seemed that I could apply with a tablet, or I could apply from my mobile phone by connecting it to the wifi hanging next to it. It was easy because the tablet automatically inputs the data when I took a picture of my passport, so I didn't have to type it in. The information I entered on the tablet was my passport ID, which country I came from, what my purpose was, and I think it was the same as when I wrote it on paper. I was glad that I could change the language to Japanese. However, sometimes I didn't understand the meaning of the change, so I changed it to English and Japanese and checked it while entering it. Then I entered my email address, and something like a visa application permission letter was sent to me. A QR code appears on the last screen. I thought I would have to read it, but a strange screen just appeared, so I guess that's not the case. Should I have taken a picture? I'm not sure. But I never used that QR code after that, so I'm not sure what it was for at the end. I'm not good at English, so I was confused about how to enter the code, and before I knew it, there were only two of us. The staff member taught me, but he was pretty random and told me to just enter it quickly. After you finish entering the information on the tablet, there is a visa application counter nearby, so you go to counter number 1, hand over your passport and pay, and then pick up your passport from counter number 5 next to it. Then you go to the immigration counter, hand over your passport and Boeing ticket, have your fingerprints taken, and go through. That's it.

Siem Reap Angkor International Airport was just completed in October 2023. It's very beautiful, but there are hardly any people there, probably because there are few flights. There is a bird's nest near the ceiling on the left hand side as you enter, and it's a little difficult to sit on the bench below. (lol) After passing through immigration, there is a small souvenir shop that sells Angkor cookies and kampet peppers, although they are a little expensive. There are no other places to kill time, and it was the emptiest airport I've ever been to. Hotel 💰Price per person: About 5,000 yen 🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: The location is in a fairly local area, but if you accept it as a quiet place, it's fine. Even the tuk-tuk drivers can tell by the hotel name. The rooftop pool has very high water quality and the venue is very clean. We were also able to use it privately, so that's why it's highly rated. Pub Street 💰Price per person: It depends on the store, but if you drink a little alcohol at a restaurant with a local menu, it's about 2,500 yen per person. Massage on Pub Street 💰Price per person: 30 minutes of foot massage course was $2💵.
