Located in Kaeng Krung National Park, Khlong Yan Wildlife Sanctuary, Khlong Yan hiking trail connects two provinces, Surat Thani and Ranong. It has abundant natural resources and a variety of plants, including rivers and streams. The route is a complex mountain path with a total distance of about 80 kilometers. Along the way, we will see lotus flowers, pass Khao Yuakan, see the view along the river, and pass through the stone slope area. There is a bonus trip to walk at Huai Ya Wua, see Rak Phueng Luang.
Preparation before the trip
- Assess physical strength and practice endurance (we chose to exercise with Bebe)
- Help carry the central pile (we got 1 kg of rice)
- Equipment to prepare: choose a hammock or a tent, 1 set of pajamas for walking 2, a shovel, a pole, and snacks during the walk (depending on each person)
- A large waterproof rubber bag to line the inside of the backpack to prevent water from entering the backpack. This trip was quite watery.
- There were leeches. Bring mosquito repellent spray, leech repellent, dog powder
- Common household medicines, smelling salts, windkillers, muscle relaxants Anti-diarrhea medicine
- Flashlight, power bank
We started our journey from Krabi to Kapoe and met up with a group of seniors at the Ban Na Subdistrict Administrative Organization.
What we decided to do when we went hiking: We wanted to disconnect ourselves from the outside world, stop playing social media, and stop learning about other people's lives from playing on our phones. Sometimes we can't stop ourselves, so we forced ourselves instead. In the end, we made the right decision. It was so much fun and we met new friends while hiking.
