Red Cliff Peak, an unseen viewpoint in Nong Khiaw
#VisitLaos
Laos is considered to have a lot of natural resources, such as Nong Khiaw town, Luang Prabang province. When you arrive, you must not miss seeing the magnificent beauty of Nong Khiaw town on the top of Pha Daeng, which is one of the most beautiful natural viewpoints in Laos.
It is certain that before seeing the beautiful view, you must exchange it with physical and mental strength because to reach the top, you need to use your legs to carry you up. It takes about 1.5 hours from the ground to the viewpoint with the Phadeang Peok sign and the Lao flag fluttering. The first part is quite easy to walk, with stairs through a lush green bamboo forest. Later, the path will become steeper and steeper, but there are places to sit and rest to recover before continuing. Along the way, we stopped to make some coffee to regain our energy. The hot water from the locals helped us survive, haha. Before reaching the top of Pha Daeng, there will be a hut for you to sit and rest because from this point, it is not far to walk and we will reach the highest point of Pha Daeng.
On the top of Pha Daeng, you can see a 360-degree view. According to international tradition, you must take a photo with the Lao flag to show that you have reached the top of Pha Daeng.
For anyone visiting Nong Khiaw town Don't miss checking in at Pha Daeng Peak, a beautiful natural viewpoint in Nong Khiaw.

Travel to Northern Laos with Nong Khiaw City
#VisitLaos
Nong Khiew is a small town in Luang Prabang Province, northern Laos. It is surrounded by mountains, white fog, and a large river running through the middle of the town. The first impression when you arrive is that this is definitely heaven on earth.
Nong Khiew is a small town with not many people. The main occupation of the villagers is agriculture. The community lifestyle is quite simple. Getting to Nong Khiew is not easy. Let's just say that you have to sit in the car until your butt hurts before you get there. Tourists who come here must intend to seek a slow life or a life that moves slowly, collecting the energy of nature into their hearts to the fullest.
As mentioned, Nong Khiew has a river running through the middle of the town and there is only one concrete bridge in the village as a route for crossing back and forth. It is also a very beautiful place to take pictures. Just on the bridge, you can take a lot of photos. And at the other end of the bridge, there are also many small, simple restaurants, pubs and bars, so at night it is not as quiet as you think. And because it is a town surrounded by mountains, when dusk falls, the air will start to get cold, so you have to find a jacket to wear. In the morning, there is a thin layer of fog covering the mountaintops. How can we not call this heaven on earth?
For those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, come and relax in a city that has its own unique charm....Nong Khieo ♥️

A river runs through it
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. - Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It
Just like the Nam Ou River that runs through Nong Khiaw, time seems to merge in this sleepy little village. Mornings and afternoons can be spent lying in a hammock reading a book or watching the river pass by. Nong Khiaw is a rustic, picturesque village in northern Laos, a 3-hour drive away from the UNESCO Heritage town of Luang Prabang. The village sits on the banks of the Nam Ou River and embraced by the river gorge at its base.
IS NONG KHIAW FOR YOU?
If you like nature and smitten with the feel of old-timey villages in Southeast Asia, then Nong Khiaw is for you. With houses covered by coffee-colored roofs and fishermen casting their nets, Nong Khiaw evokes the feeling of being untouched by time.
WHEN TO GO:
We visited in March towards the end of the winter season and the Nam Ou River was still filled up. The winter season runs from October to March and this would be the best time to visit Nong Khiaw when the weather is cool and pleasant. The water level on Nam Ou River will be quite low during the summer season (April-June) and the heat could be unbearable. I don’t recommend visiting during the rainy season (July-September) as it will be too challenging to walk around.

View of Pha Daeng, Nong Khiaw, Muang Ngoi, Luang Prabang, Lao PDR
#Laos travel I would like to recommend this place. Pha Daeng viewpoint, Muang Ngoi
Pha Daeng viewpoint takes about 1 hour to walk up and about 45 minutes to walk down. In addition to the impressive atmosphere of the sea of fog as shown in the picture, I would like to praise the waste management here. There is no garbage to see at all. The villagers said that they want to preserve the completeness of nature as much as possible.
The destination of this trip is Ban Nong Khiaw, Muang Ngoi, about 140 kilometers north of Luang Prabang, which is home to “Pha Daeng”, the most beautiful and popular viewpoint and sea of fog right now (there are 2 rounds of buses, at 09.00 and 11.00). Traveling from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw will take route 13 North, passing Pak Ou town, along the Ou River and the alternating lines of the Poon Mountains. It took us about 3 hours to reach Ban Nong Khiaw. The weather is cool these days. The day we arrived, the weather was about 12 degrees. Here, we stayed at Nong Kiau Riverside, located on the Ou River. You can see “Khoa Nong Khiaw”, pronounced as “Khua Nong Khiaw” in Lao, or Nong Khiaw Bridge in Thai.

River view accommodation, rooms in the hundreds, views worth millions
Arthith Guesthouse, Nongkhiaw, Lao PDR
#Share the cost, only 180 baht per person
This is the cheapest accommodation I've ever stayed at. It's so cool.
When we arrived, the owner came out to welcome us. He was so lovely. When we got to see the room, the beautiful view made us even more amazed. The view and atmosphere were beyond expectations. There was continuous fog to see. It was worth the 3-4 hour drive.
Oh!! Our accommodation is near a restaurant, a viewpoint, and a pier to Muang Ngoi. I don't know how to compliment it anymore. Let's just say that if you come to Nong Khiaw, stay here.

If you come to Nong Khiew, don't miss going up to the 360-degree viewpoint
of Nong Khiew Village.
The path is not difficult, but it is a roundabout walk. The view from above is magnificent. The entrance fee is in the tens, and the view is worth millions. There is a sea of fog all the time.
It is even more awesome if you can set up a tent up there. You can see both the sunset and the sea of fog in the morning. Next time you come, you have to stay here.

The only way to get to the isolated island of Muang Ngoi: Nong Kheaw Pier
Name: Nong Kheaw Pier
Search for the location on Google map, Nong Kheaw Pier. 3 minutes walk from the bridge.
The only means of transportation on the isolated island of Muang Ngoi is the traditional local boat.
And this is the only public boat departure point and ticket office.
Boats leave from here every morning at 11:30.
The first boat to Muang Ngoi leaves at 9:00, so you can only charter a boat for a day trip.
Well, if you've made the effort to go, take it easy for a couple of nights.
The scenery along the way is also wonderful, so you can enjoy the boat trip itself even though it's a boat trip.
The journey takes 1 hour.

Morning in Nong Khiaw, mountain climbing and spectacular view, sea of clouds Sleeping Lady Peak View-Point
Name: Sleeping Lady Peak View-Point
Search for the location on Google map for Sleeping Lady Peak View-Point
Overview: There are 15-minute and 45-minute courses here
In the morning, it is covered with clouds and you can't see anything from the 15-minute course. You have to choose the 45-minute course
By the way, the 15-minute course took 22 minutes and the 45-minute course took about 1 hour and 15 minutes
You should avoid climbing on days when it rains or the day after. Also, I don't recommend climbing in sandals
Impressions: When you think of Nong Kyauk, you think of morning and evening climbing
The sea of clouds you can see there, the spectacular view
Photos alone can't do it all, but it's incredibly beautiful
It's tough and you'll want to turn back halfway up, but the sense of accomplishment is incredible
Please come and see this spectacular view with your own eyes

The best sauna in Nong Khiaw - SABAI SABAI MASSAGE
Name: SABAI SABAI MASSAGE
Location: HJ98+GV7, Nong Khiaw, Laos
The only sauna in Nong Khiaw
You can reach the sauna after crossing the Nong Khiaw Bridge and walking for about 3 minutes
The sauna is clean and comfortable, as it seems to have just been built.
There are also sturdy lockers, so you can rest assured about security.
The only drawback is that the sauna is narrow and the boiler capacity is low, so the temperature drops every time someone enters and leaves, making it difficult to warm up.
The herbal tea is all-you-can-drink, so it's good for relieving the fatigue of the day.
Opens from 4:00 p.m.
If it's not crowded, it's the best sauna.
If you come to Nong Khiaw, please come and visit.

Nong Khiaw Bridge, the center of Nong Khiaw
Nong Khiaw Bridge is located in the center of Nong Khiaw.
It is not a suspension bridge, but a very ordinary bridge with only a bridge deck, but bridges themselves are rare in Laos.
In addition to the fantastically beautiful scenery, you will be captivated by the sight of cowherds and monks passing by.
It also changes its appearance depending on the time of day, entertaining travelers.
You will probably make many trips back and forth during your stay in Nong Khiaw.

Pha Daeng Best Viewpoint
#newyearadventure
Let me introduce to my favorite viewpoint in Laos so far - the Pha Daeng Viewpoint. The hike to the top of the mountain takes around one hour and we stayed on the top for around two hours and the view was beautiful. The best time to go is for sunrise or sunset but make sure to bring a head torch so you can see in the dark. The way up is not too difficult but you need shoes
Pha Chom Nang, Nong Khiaw, Muang Ngoi, Luang Prabang
🚗How to get there - Travel from Luang Prabang, head along Lek T13 North Road to Nam Bak, then turn off to Muang Ngoi. It is about 170 kilometers from Luang Prabang city, taking 3 and a half hours. 🕞
⛰Tourist attractions - It is a steep cliff, you have to walk up the mountain for about 30 minutes, but if you walk slowly and rest, it will take about 1 hour.
On the cliff, there is a tent accommodation, which we have to book in advance, the price is about 200,000 kip / person 💵, which includes breakfast. 🌯
The highlight is the view that can see Muang Ngoi in full view, along the curve of the Ou River, and the fog that comes from midnight until morning 😶🌫️. It is recommended to visit in the winter.

Nongkhiaw at its best...Beautiful nature Laos
Address - Nongkhiaw Laos ( North part)
Ambience/Facilities - see clouds, river, mountain etc...
Highlights - Nature Phadeng View Point and Muang Ngoi
Avg. Price per Person - $3
Rating - 5*
One of the best experiences so far I had in Laos 🇱🇦. Climbing and witnessing the sea of clouds in Phadeng viewpoint was the best, once you get the chance of visiting Nongkhiaw make sure to not miss this place I highly recommend to all to see it for yourself and make sure to start climbing before the sunrise 🌅 it will give you a magical memory that you'll treasure forever... and make sure to have a kayak in Nam o river for a sunset enchanted beauty. Might as well explore the busy morning market located just at the corner of the centre. Walkthrough the village for a more local experience of the place. Discover their seaweed crackers which give the authenticity of the place and the local community livelihood. And if you have the chance to volunteer to one of the free English centers named NK SEEDS it will be a great way to spend your free time too... the kids will surely love your presence and help. Smile and enjoy your adventure... cheers 🥂🥂🥂

The Hidden Gem of Laos
If you are visiting Luang Prabang, Laos, and you have some additional time, then you must visit the hidden gem of Luang Prabang, also known as “Nong Khiaw”.
Nong Khiaw is a village in Northern Laos, along the Nam Ou river. To visit here, it will be a 3-4 hour drive from the main city of Luang Prabang. There are various transport options, and the one I chosen is a shared mini bus with other tourists. To be honest, it wasn’t an enjoyable ride due to the bumpy roads and how small the mini bus is. But upon reaching the destination, you will forget the “uncomfortable”.
The village looks really surreal and because it’s not too “touristy”, many things are kept authentic. The whole village and nature scene are as raw as it is, which to me is really important when visiting such places!
The place is really beautiful and there are a few activities which you can do, to further immerse yourself in experiencing the village.
I’ll definitely recommend anyone who visit Laos to come here!

A magical location that will surprise you!
If you are in Laos, and up for a little adventure, then hiking the Phadeng Peak is a perfect activity I would really recommend to do!
Located in a small quiet village named Nong Khiaw, this place is a 3 hours drive away from the city of Luang Prabang. As the roads are not really accessible and easy to navigate, I would high advise any visitor here to arrange a private transport to this village. The journey wasn’t very pleasant due to the rocky roads but it’s all worth it once you arrive at the place.
The starting point is mins walk away from the main town, and it will take 1-2hours to reach the top, which is also called the Nong Khiaw’s viewpoint.
The hike itself is pretty manageable on a good weather and to enjoy the best scenery, hiking in the early morning during sunrise will give you the best views and photos opportunity.
Once at the peak, there is a small sheltered hut where you can have a rest and enjoy 360 degrees view above the cloud!

Viewpoints and kayaking
Nong Khiaw has lately been dubbed one of Laos' top tourist spots. Tourists did not pay much attention to this section of the country in the past, but it is now establishing itself as a destination to visit if you want to go away from the big centers of Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Nong Khiaw is a great place to visit if you enjoy trekking or simply want to see more of Laos' countryside. We went for hiking today to see the viewpoint and witness the beautiful town and afterwards a bit of kayak. it was indeed a fun day!

#favouriteitinerary If you're seeking adventure and a break from the typical tourist spots in Laos, Nong Khiaw is the perfect destination! This charming village offers a serene atmosphere and breathtaking natural beauty.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of taking a traditional boat ride along the Nam Ou River. The journey led me past quaint villages, offering a glimpse into the simple yet captivating local life.
One of the highlights was hiking to the Pha Daeng Peak viewpoint. The trail, though challenging, rewarded me with panoramic views of the valley and the meandering river below. Reaching the summit and taking in the expansive landscape was an experience I'll never forget.
The village itself exudes a laid-back vibe. The locals are incredibly friendly, and the local cuisine is both delicious and diverse. Whether you're savoring traditional Lao dishes or exploring local markets, there's something to delight every palate.
For those interested in history, the nearby Pha Kuang Cave offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. Used as a refuge during the Indochina war, exploring its depths was both humbling and enlightening.
If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in nature and culture, Nong Khiaw is a must-visit. Its blend of adventure, relaxation, and authentic Lao charm makes it a standout destination in the heart of Laos.

Luang Prabang: A Tranquil Oasis in Laos
Luang Prabang is like a pearl in the mountains of Laos, radiating a serene light.
Nestled on the banks of the Mekong River, it is surrounded by lush mountains and forests. Take a boat ride on the Mekong River, where the clear waves ripple and the breeze blows gently. The tropical rainforest on both sides of the river stretches endlessly like green silk, and rare birds occasionally fly overhead, breaking the silence of the sky. In the villages of Luang Prabang, traditional bamboo houses are scattered among the green trees, and the villagers are simple and friendly, with simple and pure smiles on their faces. Here, time seems to slow down, and you can learn to weave exquisite handicrafts with the locals and experience the cultural heritage of Laos at your fingertips.
In the morning, the mist lingers in the mountains and forests, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. The sound of temple bells can be heard in the distance, ethereal and distant, calling people to start a new day. When the sun sets, the afterglow spills over the Mekong River, dyeing the entire river golden. The magnificent scenery is enough to intoxicate every visitor, making them forget the hustle and bustle of the world and enjoy the tranquility and peace unique to Luang Prabang.
