Sightseeing around the West Lake of Hangzhou has been absolutely enchanting, even with the almost freezing temperature! People usually jog and take long walks around lake (it’s advisable to wear comfortable clothes and shoes 👟 ). West Lake is surrounded by both western and local restaurants 🍴. There are quite a lot of hotels surrounding the lake ( Sofitel , Hangzhou’s Grand Hyatt etc.) . The area is accessible. There are different types of boats (ferries, traditional Dragon 🐉 boats etc.) Their prices are quite reasonable , depending on your choice and preference. It’s a great place for outdoor photo shoot. 3+ trips in and Hangzhou is still an easy go-to trip for when I want to get away from sprawling Chinese cities but still get that urban convenience. Head to West Lake and you can spend all day exploring. Whether it’s going on an urban hike around the outside or grabbing a bike and exploring some of the countless temples, pagodas, museums, and cafes that sit on it’s banks.
