Unforgettable Stay at Olerai Lodge

We spent two nights at Olerai after our gorilla trek in Uganda， before heading to Tanzania's splendid national parks. Olerai Lodge was undoubtedly our favorite accommodation during our two weeks in East Africa， and we’d return in a heartbeat! We enjoyed a rest day there prior to embarking on the safari part of our journey， and it was an ideal spot to unwind， relax， and be pampered. Celebrating our fifth anniversary with Shadows of Africa， we were welcomed with complimentary champagne and a stunning room that felt like an entire house! We loved the charming mountain-view patio， complete with an outdoor lounging bed and swing. The bed was the most comfortable of our trip， and the bathroom was spacious， boasting a lovely clawfoot tub perfect for soaking after days of adventures. The water pressure and temperature were excellent， and though there wasn't air conditioning， we stayed perfectly comfortable with the room fans. The lodge also offers beautiful kitengue robes for lounging， which were a delightful touch! Meals were delicious， combining buffets and menu selections for entrees， with a variety of soups we adored for dinner. Our main server was Chaz， whose kindness stood out—he and the staff even surprised us with a cake and a song for our anniversary on our first night! The entire property was gorgeous and tranquil， enhanced by stunning landscaping. Although we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the pool due to overcast weather， we had a lovely time relaxing indoors and around the property. Observing the monkeys was immensely entertaining， though it's important to maintain distance and not leave belongings outside. If we return to Arusha， we will definitely stay at Olerai again! Highly recommended!
