#NovemberDestinations2025 Today I visited Mount Aso in Kumamoto, and I was truly awestruck by the power of nature! Seeing the Nakadake crater rumbling and belching white smoke, with a strong smell of sulfur in the air, was no joke! 😤 I was incredibly lucky to catch it open, and even saw the Tiffany Green lake in the crater, so beautiful it felt unreal. Kusasenri next door is also a must-see; the endless grasslands with grazing horses are perfect for a computer wallpaper! Standing here, I felt so small. This is definitely one of the most worthwhile and amazing places to visit in Kyushu! ⸻ 📝Mount Aso Summit Tips (Super Useful!) • 🔍 Must Check Before You Go: Always check the official website for "Crater Regulations Information." It may close if the toxic fumes are too high, so don't make a wasted trip! • 🚁 Helicopter Experience: If your budget allows, a helicopter tour is highly recommended. The view of the crater from a bird's-eye view is absolutely stunning. • 🧥 Dress Warmly and Protect Yourself from the Wind: There's no shelter on the mountain, and it's incredibly windy and cold. Bring a jacket regardless of the season. • 🐎 Kusasenri Horse Riding: Located opposite the volcano museum, you can enjoy a horseback riding experience. The photos taken here are incredibly cinematic. • 🍦 Volcanic Ash Ice Cream: A must-try at the rest stop! The grey sesame flavor is delicious and photogenic. This scenery is truly spectacular. If you want to witness the breathing of an active volcano firsthand, you absolutely can't miss it! 🌋🐎✨
