Located on the 2nd floor of Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, this place is impressive with its luxurious atmosphere and quiet space. I experienced the ‘Summer Afternoon Tea’, which is available only this season, in this tea room where traditional Thai elements and modern elegance are harmoniously combined. ⸻ Menu Composition: Over 15 delicate menus were beautifully presented on a 3-tiered tray. From unfamiliar traditional Thai desserts to creative fusion desserts, it was fun to look at and eat. Savory (Salty Menu) • Kanom krok tom kha gai This menu, with coconut and chicken toppings on top of crispy riceberry pudding and a subtle galangal flavor, felt like a bite of ‘traditional Thai flavors’. • Larb moo tord This menu is a spicy, deep-fried larb moo with an impressive salty and crispy texture. It really whets your appetite! • Miang bua luang tao hoo This menu is a lotus leaf topped with tofu, coconut, lime, ginger, peanuts, etc., and served with a sweet and sour sauce, making it a great combination to eat in one bite. • Por pia goong Crispy spring rolls filled with shrimp, dipped in plum sauce, a taste that combines tradition and modernity! • Yum som o kratong thong Small crispy cups topped with grapefruit, pomegranate, and shrimp paste. It was refreshing and salty, making it one of the most memorable menus. ⸻ Sweets • Look tarn loy kaew: Toddy palm flesh soaked in butterfly pea syrup – refreshing with a Thai flavor. • Woon kati: Soft coconut jelly • Mayongchid sorbet: Marian plum sorbet – Sweet and sour mouthwash • Thai sorbet: Thai-flavored choux • Coriander sorbet: The combination of coconut and coriander is refreshing and subtly good. • Various desserts such as tarts, madeleines, panna cotta, and cakes were filled with Thai ingredients such as mango, lime, galangal, basil, and passion fruit, giving the restaurant a true sense of the theme of “summer made in Thailand.” • Scones: The combination of orange confit scones and pineapple-lemongrass jam was also great. ⸻ It was a truly satisfying experience to be able to enjoy this level of composition, quality, and hotel-level service for the price of THB 800. If you want to enjoy tea time as a cultural experience rather than just dessert, this is the perfect choice. In particular, it was a time to feel the harmony of tradition and modernity, local ingredients, and gourmet trends at a glance, which enriched the emotions of the trip.
