Self-driving in Xinjiang | A winter encounter with Kanas~

But this overlooked place is so beautiful, breathtakingly so! Since then, it’s not just the autumn scenery that’s vibrant; the winter scenery is even more precious. ① Must-visit highlights: Kanas Old Village Tribe: Compared to the commercialized New Village, it has less commercialization, and the wooden houses have a more authentic tribal atmosphere, making photos more beautiful. Kanas Lake: In winter, Kanas Lake turns into a dark green emerald. The lake, pine forests, and snow-capped mountains together form a winter landscape painting. Moon Bay, Fairy Bay, Wolong Bay: Even in winter, these three bays are must-visit spots. Coming to Kanas without visiting these three bays is like coming for nothing. ② Snow scenery outfit: Outerwear: Mainly down jackets, you can choose extreme cold down jackets. Brighter colors will look better in photos, but you can also bring a fur coat or a thicker black slim-fit coat for a different kind of beauty. Innerwear: Don’t underestimate the cold here; temperatures below zero by dozens of degrees are common. Fleece-lined pants and thermal underwear are a must! Accessories: Bring several hats, bright scarves, and gloves for warmth and great photos. Shoes: Mainly fleece-lined boots, and don’t forget to bring several pairs of fleece-lined socks. ③ Accommodation: New Village: Hotels are generally newer, with complete facilities and better warmth. Old Village: Some hotels are indeed not as good as those in New Village, but many classic and famous hotels are here. ④ Activities: There aren’t many winter activities, but you can choose to ride horses and stroll in the village.
