Camagüey, Cuba

👏 Camagüey is the third largest city in Cuba, known as the 'City of Tinajones'. 🌎 In July 2008, the old city of Camagüey was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. 📷 The old city is a true labyrinth, with narrow streets and serpentine cobblestone alleys that often lead to disorientation. 💃 Camagüey is also a city of culture and art, home to famous Chinese-born painter Flora Fong, poet Nicolás Guillén, and Silvestre de Balboa, the first person of Cuban literature, all of whom are from Camagüey. 👯 Camagüey boasts the second largest ballet company in Cuba after Havana, as well as folk dance groups, choirs, and more, offering an immersion in the arts. 🏤 The city also preserves colonial-era buildings, narrow streets, ancient churches, a tropical botanical garden, and the fourth largest university in Cuba, the University of Camagüey.
