We're coming to Chengde Mountain Resort!

Having grown up watching Qing dynasty dramas, I've always been fascinated by the Chengde Mountain Resort. While we can't be royal family members, we can still explore the resort and enjoy Chengde cuisine. This year, I deliberately avoided the May Day holiday and took my parents to Chengde early. The scenery is truly beautiful, the classical architecture is magnificent, and Chengde cuisine was surprisingly delicious. Gaidao Meat_ I ordered this dish because the name sounded interesting and I hadn't tried it before. It's also a signature traditional Rehe dish. The meat is placed inside a pocket of flatbread, which is very special and worth trying! Bandit Pork Trotters_ This dish really gives you the feeling of being a mountain king, eating large chunks of meat and taking big gulps of wine. It's very hearty, fragrant, and satisfying. My dad particularly loved this dish. Pine Mushroom Youmian Wozi_ This healthy whole grain dish has the fragrance of pine mushrooms and oat flour, and gets more flavorful the more you chew! When we were leaving, my mom ordered an extra portion to take home for my grandma, saying it reminded her of flavors from her childhood. This Chengde trip was very enjoyable, and I plan to come back again in the summer.
