Xintianling Ancient Village in Chenzhou, Hunan

Built during the Ming and Qing dynasties, Xintianling Ancient Village has weathered over 500 years while maintaining its original layout, making it one of the few well-preserved ancient villages in Chenzhou untouched by urbanization. The mottled bluestone paths and aged houses with stone walls and gray tiles reveal its rich history. Over 60 well-preserved ancient dwellings remain, including the Xie Clan Ancestral Hall, Wufeng Tower, Council Hall, and Changjinyuanyuan Tower. The most iconic Wufeng Tower features gray bricks and black tiles in a two-story brick-wood structure, with a flush gable roof, fireproof walls, and upturned eaves adorned with intricate carvings. Its lintels and window frames display exquisite floral and figure patterns through wood, stone, and plaster carvings. The surrounding white bluestone-paved paths connect seamlessly with scientific drainage systems, highlighted by rare bull-patterned stone carvings in the courtyards. Recognized as part of the fifth batch of China's Traditional Villages.
