The Beautiful Ancient Town Near Xi'an That's Quiet, Scenic, and Free

Located 15 kilometers west of Danfeng County, there is a long-standing and stunningly beautiful ancient town called 'Dihua Ancient Town,' which I would have regretfully missed if not for a rest stop during a self-driving trip. Dihua Ancient Town was an important post on the ancient Shangyu Path that connected the north to Qin and Jin and the south to Wu and Chu in ancient times. Bai Juyi, a famous poet, passed through Dihua three times and left the famous line 'From afar I hear of brothers in a traveler's dream, it must be the post station named Dihua that inspired them.' Today, it is the hometown of the contemporary famous writer Jia Pingwa and the real-life setting of the novel 'Qinqiang.' The town is filled with ancient and elegant buildings, beautiful seas of Dithang flowers, and alleys full of life. Every single spot is a 📸 hotspot for photos! ⛺ [Attraction Recommendations] 🚩 Erlang Temple Built in the third year of the Jin Dynasty's Dading era (1211), it is recorded that in the twelfth year of the Shaoxing era of the Song Dynasty (1142), when the Jin invaded the Southern Song Dynasty up to Longju Fort, the Southern Song soldiers resisted fiercely. The battle was long and indecisive, and the then Prime Minister Qin Hui advocated for peace, resulting in 'ceding the commercial border to Jin.' To mark the border, the Jin built the 'Erlang Temple' in the style of a Lama temple, incorporating Han architectural art, on the east street of Dihua, making it the boundary between the Song to the east and the Jin to the west. 🚩 Guandi Temple Built in the 18th year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1753), it was constructed in the style of the Erlang Temple. 🚩 Er Long Bridge With a total length of 81 meters, looking north from the bridge, on the west side of Jiayuan Village and on both sides of Faxing Temple, there are two famous springs, Anquan and Si Quan. The holy water from these two dragon springs flows through a channel, passing under the ancient stone bridge, hence the name 'Two Dragons Arching Over One Bridge.' On both sides of the bridge are inscriptions of poems by literati who passed through the Shangyu Path over the ages. 🚩 Fengyu Bridge Named with the meaning of 'weathering storms together, growing old together' as a bridge of love. 🚩 Qingfeng Street Originally the old street of Dihua, it was also an important node on the Shangyu Path, famous for the Dihua post station. Qingfeng Street got its name from the setting of the story in 'Qinqiang,' where the character prototypes and cultural symbols like 'Bai Xue's house,' 'Yinsheng's house,' 'Xiafeng's house,' 'Wanjia Restaurant,' 'Wulin Tofu Shop,' 'Daqing Hall Pharmacy,' and others are all recreated in their original scenes. 🚩 Songjin Street The east side of the street is Song, and the west is Jin.
